I didn't say I had a music degree. I said as an amateur critic with no musical qualifications, who reviews many albums a year, I can say that there is way better stuff out there. That there is way riskier, more alternative music than this (in pop terms, it may be a risk, but not in general music terms) and that these songs are, for the most part, very basic and sometimes don't even have a lot of lyrics. And the vast amount of co-writers prove that Beyonce didn't even play a huge part is this apparently personal album. Personal albums should not require this amount of co-writers. If I, an amateur, can pick up on all this, why can't professional critics? I'm really intrigued to know what happens when you go professional, if a bit of pretentiousness comes in and you stop looking at things realistically and just start loving everything. Critics are far too easily impressed, especially in an age where the public agrees that, in general, most music is terrible right now. It's rare to see a truly negative review from a critic. Either they're too easily amused or they're getting bribed for positive press. That's all I can say. I've only found 2 albums so far this year that were above average. And by that, I mean 3.5/5. I don't know what these critics are seeing that I can't.

You reaaaally need to stop assuming your opinion is fact. I just find it funny that you called educated people out on their opinion despite acknowledging the fact that they know more than you just cos what, you have a Spotify account?  You're not better than anyone else here.

Just because you don't see something special in an album, it doesn't mean it's not there and it's completely unfair to suggest that she paid for those reviews, or that she got that score just because she's Beyonce. We all know that you hate her. Your response was so so very predictable.

Maybe just accept the fact that she made an album that a lot of people have clearly connected to. Writing essays about how "overrated" she is won't change how much people enjoy her and her work. You can claim she's overrated all you like, but there's obviously a reason people like her so much. It's a shame for you that you can't see it, but you have no right to tell people that their opinion is wrong and that they like Beyonce just because of her name. Tell me why you think people would spend so much time and money on her if they really didn't like her.

I sort of have to agree. And it just has to be faced @StrawberryBlond that Lemonade HAS merrit. Is it The best of its genre ever? Perhaps not, but its a great work.

Some of you people here are so shallow and bothered. No one's forcing Bey down your throat. Don't click the headlines about her on your social media. Don't listen to her music. Don't watch the videos. Like OMG it's like some of y'all are just upsetting yourselves and taking it out on others.

It's fine not to like something, but the way so many of you express that dislike is so ugly and disrespectful.
