Snow 1,582
Ohmess of a thread again... Let's get a few things very clear from The technical aspect these tracks have profound general difference, one is in minor key The other in major which sets them apart from there already. Secondly, they share a similar chord progression (very common) in parts though not absolute usage of harmonies. Sia has a few more "musical" transitions etc. In her usge of chords/harmonies. Gaga's, on though mainly in minor, is strongly made as NC (no chord) and playes heavily on agogic rather than chord or harmony progression (part from bits in chorus). So The approach is totally different. Thirdly that leads to The biggest difference; sia's song is based on melodies and melody thematical approach both in song essence and in struckture of harmony progression (I.e. usage of "voices"). And then The Gaga one is almost non-melodic in its purpose and it is made and composed based on The pulse of MUSIC and rythmic form and that is what "leads" usage of chords, not voicing or harmony landscape. (Beat &rythm, pulse). One could analyze these way more but there you go. But thats what came to mind on first listen. Quite different. However their production and Instrumentals (well technically there are no instruments :D) are very very similar. But as pointed out above isn't really The thing that one should judge songs similarity or there lack of. Anyway its probably a garibay instrumental and most likely Gaga hasns has anything to do with it, just The song on top of it. And same to Sia. She wrote a song atop that " base instrumental " which is garibay's not Gaga's. So yeah... Some similarities but no, noone is copying anyone here, garibay just re-using some of HIS production. Quite common in pop world. And guys, remember DEMOS. IN SHORT: they share similarities in production, completely different othervice.

It's the same instrumental reworked into another song

Mere instrumental/production is not The song alone You may have to completely different song with similar production/instrumental.

But you are aware that she's been weird and crazy long before Gaga even became famous, right? She even rocked this look in 2007: FameGa's mom teas. Only posting 'cause I'd assume you'd say this was Gaga inspired if it had been from like 2010.

You copy the link leading to your picture and you make sure it ends in a .jpg/.png/.gif y'know, an extension (if not, try to delete everything in front of it - there's always one in the link - and try again, if not, just find something else lol). You just paste and copy it here, it embeds on the page automatically.

Second: yes, Gaga did this "first" on Alan Carr in 2011 but that's the only time she did it. Her iconic hairbow is an actual hairbow. Sia, meanwhile made that bow a staple in her outfits. She has like 20 variations of it. The only time I'd say she flatout copied Gaga intentionally was on Ellen. Though it was still cute and freshly done and perhaps a comment. But yeah, that was a bit iffy to me. You said in a general sense tho, this is about hair (decorations) Is that it?

I am not saying that they are exactly the same, or that she actually was inspired by Gaga. Is just that some of her looks are very similar to Gaga and that she could have been inspired by Gaga. And as you know Gaga, even if Gaga may not have invented some of these, she did popularize them first in the mainstream. Also, my main point of this thread was about the obvious similarities in the songs. But some one here said that Sia was nothing like Gaga and so I responded with this hair or maybe outfits similarities.
