I think she tried to do that during ARTPOP but it just didn't work because the shifts weren't big/convincing enough, so she just ended up looking like she was skipping from half-baked character to the next. But I'd like some more consistency next. So many of her characters are so promising, it always kills me to see her drop them after a day or a week. Like, when she released the CLLG video I really thought we would have an entire era in that aesthetic and I was super excited. I'd like something like that. ARTPOP had too many wigs (from the mermaid hair, to her normal black hair, to the huge blonde Venus wig, to the bright green wig to straight blonde, etc.) whereas in The Fame she was wearing this wig most of the time: even if she made a variant of this wig, they were still similar unlike those from Born This Way and ARTPOP which looked like they came from totally different eras.
