Prince and Lady Gaga

I think the only reason he invited Kim K on stage is she was the celebrity that happened to be there. I really don't think he planned it beforehand, like "Oh damn, I love this Kardashian girl, let's bring her front row so I can pull her up on stage during the show" :toofunny:

As for why Prince, or even Bowie, allegedly disliked Gaga, I guess it's simply because she was so blatantly inspired and a fan of them, and people kind of expected them to have a reaction or an opinion about her. You know, sometimes when you're aware of someone liking you, or when someone is expecting a reaction from you, the only thing you want to do is run away (if you're kind of a ****, that is :hor:). I guess they also profoundly considered themselves true originals and thought about her as some kind of a fraud. I could even add Grace Jones to the list, but it seemed weird to include her amongst a bunch of dead people.

Then again I could be completely wrong.

The fact that Prince once invited Kim Kardashian on stage in one of his concerts in NYC pisses me off. Prince would be the last musician I would've expected to like that talentless fame/attention *****. Very strange and suspicious. I don't understand why he disliked Gaga? You would think that he would appreciate her talent, creativity, showmanship, and artistry, but no, sadly, he accused her of buying the 2015 Billboard Woman of the Year honor...utterly ridiculous. If Gaga would've gone to one of his concerts and if he spotted her in the crowd, do you guys think he would've acknowledge her and brought her up on stage? R.I.P Prince. I wasn't a big fan, but he was absolutely an incredibly talented musician.

But then he also told her to get off the stage when she didn't offer anything to the show. And where is it said he didn't like Gaga? Did he actually say this or did media just make this up?

She's a savy business woman. That's a talent.

I'm so done with these people calling Kim K a savvy business woman, when in fact she is not, exploiting your body to get things is not a talent and it's not the trait of a "savvy business woman". And everything is orchestrated by Kris Jenner and her team of publicists, agents, etc etc etc. Kim and her sisters just appear whereever using their bodies to maintain the fame they received after Kim's sex tape and their affiliation with the OJ Simpson trial.

And also when it comes to the Grace Jones thing, I don't find Gaga to be similar to her, and I never understood the outrage Grace felt towards Gaga. And I've also found Gaga to be more like someone before any of those men, before Grace too, and that is Cher. Cher started her career in the 60s before Bowie and before Prince came onto the scene, and a decade before Grace Jones. Or I should say, Cher came out before Bowie began the "outrageous" image change with Ziggy Stardust. Bowie was rather ordinary until the Fall of Ziggy album, which came out in the 70s. And I've also found Gaga much more to be like Cher than Madonna. And then there's Freddy Mercury as well.

Here are three possible reasons:

1. He's a great friend of Madonna

2. He's affiliated to a Christian group that doesn't support homosexuality and Gaga obviously love teh gheyz.

3. He probably believed that fake article that he retweeted that Gaga bought her award from Billboard and thought Gaga is dirty.

I'm going to go with 1 and 3.  In all seriousness, though, he probably thought she drew too much inspiration from the great legends like Bowie, Madonna, Whiney and himself.  Some artist don't find that flattering and are intimidated when a young, new artist is as talented as Gaga.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

well, from what I have read from you on this forum you have the opinion that people not liking someone is because they are pressed because he/she is doing better than Gaga. So... are people allowed to dislike someone or is just pressed souls? Was Prince pressed because of Gaga's success? :chica:

Of course they are allowed. And some of my posts are said in jest just for fun so chica.jpg

We get reminded everyday here on GGD that Gaga is not universally liked.

Actually, Gaga is universally liked. She is loved by millions of people all over the world.

The truth hurts right? That woman is just masturbation material for men. Yeah, she's cute and super hot/sexy, but has zero talent.

LMAO.

I just cannot.

Prince and Madonna were not close. They enjoyed a handful of dates in the eighties and the last time they met publicly (that we know of) was in 2007.

You all really need to let the Madonna hate go. She is not this great enemy of Little Monsters... Was she shady when she said "reductive"? Absolutely. But they have made up and obviously respect each other, why can't this fanbase too? For every bit of shade Madonna has thrown at Gaga she has praised her at least 3 times as much and vice versa. It's so unnecessary to think of Madonna as this anti-Gaga force when Madonna was one of the first big stars to publicly support Gaga... She went to The Fame Ball in 2009 (pre Bad Romance) and invited Gaga to a private party in London where they took pictures and took turns dancing to each other's songs.  Born This Way is just very similar to Express Yourself, Gaga has admitted to that. Why can't you just let it go? Madonna was simply not amused for a short period of time and they've since moved on and are on great terms. They now have the same record label, the same management company, the same touring company, the same talent agency and they're friendly when they meet now. What more do you want? Madonna and Gaga are both Queens. Let it go.

She is universally liked but GGD is an alternate universe. It's where the Monster haters roam free.
