Gaga: Greatest Hits (Concept by Me)

I got to thinking how there are sometimes songs that don't make the cut but Gaga still talked about them or sang them live. I think her songs really reflect an era well and he could revive them. Obviously she still needs a few more albums to get more hits and complete a greatest hits album, but songs that I believe should be on the album include...

Just Dance

Poker Face

Paparazzi

Bad Romance

Telephone

Alejandro

Born This Way

The Edge of Glory

Applause

(9 total tracks so far, not in this order, WW smashes)

But how about adding unreleased songs on the album? Like reviving each era with one song as a single, but off the one's that we've heard (I know there's not a lot). It would sort of be like getting a dose of her career. Songs that I think would be great are...

Glitter and Grease

Out of Control/Nothing on But the Radio

Princess Die

Brooklyn Nights

Thoughts?

I don't see the point in releasing a Greatest Hits in the digital era. Anyone can make a playlist with all the singles, we don't need you to do that for us.

I think she could release an EP full of unreleased songs tbh. Greatest hits albums are usually for GP listeners that want to catch up whatever they missed in the past gaga-related, and unreleased tracks might not be what they're looking for.

I also don't see the point of a Greatest Hits album in this current digital era of music anytime soon... Unless we're talking decades from now (hopefully) and she might want to finish her recording catalogue with "Gaga: The Compilation" and do something like Prince's "The Hits/The B-Sides" and feature all the hits in her catalogue with rare songs for the super fans. It'd be nice to have an overview of her career and a few rarities as closure for her fans. Or (let's not discuss this one any further) what about an overall "collection" album of hits and unreleased material when she passes away? Bowie is supposed to have left behind instructions for posthumous releases...

I agree unless it's like a box set with posters and other extras included, like unreleased recording footage or unreleased concert footage.

instead why not make it into LG5's first single physical copy?

so the album includes hits that ran away plus the newest single from LG5 instead of a one track CD of the first single.

tracklist:

1 LG5 single

2 Dance in the Dark

3 So Happy I could Die

4 Monster

5 Scheisse

6 Heavy Metal Lover

7 Bloody Mary

8 Paper Gangsta

9 Venus

10 Gypsy

bonus track

11 Partynauseous

12 Brooklyn Nights

Digital copies of GH's are pretty pointless but there's still that novelty and sense of retrospect in having it in physical. Plus who desn't want a new Gaga CD with photoshoots. I'll live for an extensive booklet with background about each songs though.

Greatest Hits make sense in the past but don't much anymore... And I'm sure we will be seeing them fade out. Especially with physical CD sales declining.
