Next Tour : Less songs, but in full ?

Hey guys,

I've been watching Gaga's tours lately, and I'm cringing at how badly some songs have been cut at the artRave. I mean, DWUW without its second verse, all the "classics" except Bad Romance being shortened, and hell, one third of the ARTPOP songs shortened too (DWUW, Sexxx Dreams, MJH, Aura, Swine, JnD (ok this one was an interlude but still)).

After that, I'm 100% sure of one thing : I'd rather have less songs in the setlist, and have the others performed in full. I mean, it's ok for her to be tired of her old hits (especially Poker Face - let's be real, it's obvious that she's sick of this one), but if it's just to shove them into the setlist to please the GP attending, it won't work for long : if "casual listeners" attend a Gaga show, they will want to bop for at least 3 minutes, not just for a chorus and a post-chorus. (see : Telephone at the artRave, most frustrating performance ever).

It leads me to the conclusion that less songs could be for the better for the next tour, even if we have to not hear a note of a few classics. Instead of "1/4 of judas, two lines of TEOG and 1:30 of Aura", I would have taken a full performance of any of these songs with no hesitation.

What do you think ? (Please let's not talk about the usual piano segment (reminder : 3 songs only in more than half an hour at the ArtRave) that would need to be shortened or used to deliver more songs, but about the show in general.)

I think that she should just keep on with Bad Romance, Paparazzi, Alejandro, Born This Way, TEOG, Applause, DWUW. 

But she's definitely tired of telephone.

She should perform Just Dance,Pokerface,Bad Romance,Alejandro,Born This Way,Judas,Applause and all the other songs should be from the new album

Yes, I think its time to retire some songs, particularly the ones that are shortened into melodies. She can always switch them back in later tours in replace of other songs.

If she's forced by the GP to play hits she's tired of/doesn't like (ie telephone), she's not going to perform them with 100% enthusiasm and passion. Gaga should just perform whatever the hell she wants to, whether that's an hour of jazz covers like La Vie en Rose and Bang Bang or a 2 hour 'rave'. After all, its her show.

Tbh I couldn't care less what she plays as long as we get full versions of Judas, Scheisse and Heavy Metal Lover.

She can also add elements of songs into others rather than shorten them, she's never done that i think.

She should just perform one or two songs from each era.

TF: Poker Face, Paparazzi

TFM: Bad Romance, Telephone

BTW: Born This Way, The Edge of Glory

AP: Applause, DWUW

And shorten them if necessary. But she should perform all of the songs off the album

Yeah, to be honest I would rather full songs instead of having songs that last for a minute. It's not exciting to hear that song begin and then have it over so quickly. If she has to sacrifice Poker Face or whatever and the new album is great then I don't mind. The only old singles that I'd really love to hear on the next tour are Just Dance, Paparazzi, Bad Romance, Alejandro, The Edge of Glory and Do What U Want. Others like Applause, Judas, Telephone, You and I etc would be super fun but if she had to sacrifice their place in the set then I'd be cool with it.

Yes a merging of songs could be interesting! It'd certainly be something different.

She always half-asses Alejandro, so I really think she should rework it for the next tour. I don't think that any live performance has ever really captured the magic of that song...maybe the American Idol performance. Lovegame needs to make her triumphant return, as well.

I'm pretty sure Just Dance, Poker Face, Paparazzi, Bad Romance, Alejandro, BTW and Y&I will stick forever. Applause and Telephone may return too next tour.

But to me Judas and TEOG will be gone next tour (And most probably DWUW too) She had to add it to the artRAVE because of meltdowns but she didn't wanted... She only sang the chorus of TEOG...

 

I just want her to perform her big hits + ALL LG5 songs.

Yeah I can imagine that TEOG will be knocked off the setlist. Its a song written about the passing of her grandad, is she really going to want to sing that every night to a crowd?
