On the surface it may seem like Lemonade is more creative because of its polish and or because Beyonce tried a country song for the first time, but in general the whole album is basically about infidelity. Beyonce speaks of infidelity in different ways and with different lyrics but in the end is still all about the same. In contrast, everything in ARTPOP is just much more unique, abstract, and creative. From the covers, to the videos, to the themes, and to the lyrics, ARTPOP is easily more creative than Lemonade. I normally don't like comparing two different artists. But I agree with your sentiment. ARTPOP was abstract. It forces you to use your intelligence. Lemonade is all cliche. It tells you what to think because everything is all so obvious. Not only that but Lemonade had what? 100 songwriters? 50 producers? It's a factory made product that wears art like a badge. He's only stating his opinion that although Lemonade seems to be getting universal acclaim from critics compared to ARTPOP which got mixed reviews, he finds ARTPOP to be more inspiring at an artistic level. And I have to say that I agree. Lemonade is just cliche after cliche after cliche. To me anyway. I would be happy to hear your thoughts if you think otherwise.
