Stop hating on Tidal. It's a revolutionary platform for artists. Why are you trying to limit artistic expression?

This. And I truly don't get The hate?! O.o Its much better way for artists to earn than spotify for example. #musicisNOTfree #stopstealing

It's just marketing.  I don't like streaming exclusives but it brings in a lot of subscribers and then they can earn coins by releasing it publicly.

It's an awful way to market your product because you lose credibility but that's not something Tidal has yet so it's all profit to them.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Yes it was a stunt, but I cancelled my $10/month subscription to Apple Music and now have the $5/month subscription to Tidal and honestly, Tidal has all the music that Apple Music has and also makes it way easier to discover new artists, so I like it more.

I don't understand the anger... But it's business. You need to realize that people in business don't give a **** about you. They want money. It's the way the world works. And getting angry about it on a fan site is going to do nothing productive so....

Actually I think those of you who don't get the anger are the ones (along with Tidal) who don't get it.  The thing is, to make money, you need customers.  And in the currently reality, their business model is not going to work.  To get hits, you need to the people.  To get the people, you need to do what they want and expect.

We are talking about scamming. That's a reason to be angry about, and I hope more people will even realize. Imagine, you want to have Tidal Sub now because one album has been released EXCLUSIVELY ONLY FOR TIDAL. So the person decides, regardless from the trial, to buy a subscription and listen to the album. BUT then after 1-2 days, it's getting released on other platforms as a normal album. How can you call THAT exclusive? And it's not going to do anything productive? We are allowed to express our feelings with the community and perhaps most people would agree and who knows the media would see. Anything can happen. A-ny-thing.

It's not a scam :saladga: you vote with your dollar. Don't buy a subscription.

I downloaded Tidal and they never put an exclusive ribbon over Beyonce's album. So I never thought it would stay on there forever, I guess.

Haven't they done this a few times now? I stopped taking Tidal seriously when Kayne went on a rant about how his new album was never going to be on another site except Tidal and then a week later it was streaming on iTunes. :toofunny:

In all fairness, they didn't say it wasn't going to be elsewhere though. They said you could listen to it exclusively at TIDAL when it was only TIDAL you could listen to it on.

Regardless, of course it's a way to promote TIDAL. I'm pretty sure there's a decent chance Gaga will do the same with iTunes / Apple Music since they're always promoting each other and doing deals.

I agree. What Beyonce did is different than what Drake is doing.

Drake will release his album for streaming on Apple Music in May, and will release physical copies a week later. That way, everyone has a chance to listen to music early or wait a week for a copy. The fans know what to expect, and no surprises (in terms of subscribing and such) are there. The only surprise is the new music.

Beyonce (and other artists) on Tidal said it will only be on Tidal. So fans who want to listen to their music have to sign up. There were no promises for their music on other streaming services or physical copies of them until a few days later. No notice in advance for the fans who have been with them all this time. Therefore, this was a scam since it's not the first time a Tidal artist did this and the fans were lied to.

Tidal is a joke.

I fell down the stairs once as an actor.

Tidal is a joke. They need to just put it out of its misery. They make such a big deal about exclusives but then the next time I turn around it's on damn iTunes. Like get some balls have at least a week or two if not a month of exclusivity. Thankfully the artists releasing on Tidal are not ones I care for anymore.

The same thing Apple does. When did Tidal or B say that this is an exclusive and will never be released anywhere else ever. I could have sworn that was third party.
