Gaga Was Ahead With Visual Album Idea

This is not me giving Gaga the upper hand over Beyonce. Obviously Beyonce was also ahead with this idea even though she also did no do this first. But this is similar to when Gaga brought dance music to the mainstream in the US. She obviously did not come up with dance music as others had already done this before.

She didn't do it first but she actually did it six (?) years before Gaga even mentioned the idea. The two of them are not even comparable when it comes to discussing this kind of idea. No one has pulled off the visual album like Beyonce has with her past two albums, as far as I'm aware. I'm happy to be proved wrong on that because it's an enormous project to undertake so I'd like to check out anyone that has done it in the same way.

It's not the same as Gaga bringing back dance to the mainstream, because once again - she actually did that. Yes it had been done before, but she modernised it and played a major part in dance becoming a major trend for several years. It doesn't matter if it had been done before because she flipped it in her own way and made it popular again. I'd say that counts as forward thinking. I'd say the same thing about her use of fashion as a major part of her image. We've all seen the before & and after Gaga graphics. Once again, she wasn't the first artist to have an outlandish fashion sense, but she made it popular again.

Using your logic, we may as well say that Nicki Minaj was ahead and forward thinking in fashion when she started throwing all kinds of crazy **** on her outfits after Gaga made it cool.

No, she wasn'.t If she really was ahead with the visual album she would have done it, but instead she just talked out of her ASS (as usual) and now she is OVER and done!

Wow never have I seen a true monster and she was planning it stupid but her label cancelled all her plans, they controlled Gaga. Lemme take you to school

Does this suddenly mean Gaga wasn't ahead with her idea? Only a few mainstream artists have thought/done this visual album concept, specially in recent times. Even if those artists you mentioned did it before Gaga, Gaga was still ahead and forward thinking with her concept in the mainstream world.

Your OP mentions Beyonce and her work four times and no other artist, so it's clear that you're trying to pin Gaga as being ahead (or above) of her. In that regard, you're entirely wrong :emma:

The problem is how people think Beyoncé is the first one and they think she's so innovative when in fact she is not. They praise her and act like she's some artistic genius when really it's the 50 producers and 40 songwriters work on the albums not just hers. She and her husband and that whole part of the industry are liars and scammers and phonies. And with Sasha Fierce are you trying to claim Beyoncé invented the idea of alter egos in mainstream? If you are, sit down!

And it's all so fake. Faker than Beyoncé's first pregnancy.

What about tropico

I think Gagz had the idea first and announced it? I don't remember exact dates, nor do I listen to Lana Del Ray, but I seem to recall Gaga talking about it first.

I'd say Gaga is forward- thinking about it, but not necessarily ahead since she didn't actually do it. That, and it may be difficult to call it forward-thinking when we know Gaga has a million ideas a minute and talks about all of them even though maybe only a handful get done. Releasing Act II would have been "ahead", those different BTW song variations could have been "ahead", but she never did them. I'm not being critical of her, I'm just saying you can't be ahead if you never start in the first place. I do think this proves that she still has loads of great ideas though and that the well has not run dry yet. She just needs to get faster on the execution and let other people help. Beyonce's success is that she has TONS of people helping her because she knows where her talents are vs. are not. She isn't a director, or a choreographer so she lets others help her achieve her vision. Art is collaborative at its best and Beyonce, who's music may not be to my taste, gets that.

Well things go around in circles generally so even looking to the past to bring something back could be seen as forward thinking, but it's not revolutionary or new really. That being said, it was done a few years prior so it's not really being ahead in my opinion :spin: Also, actions speak louder than words. It's great to have an idea and state it but if it's not brought to fruition then that's that really. Who knows if others had the same idea anyway, they may have just not stated it out loud or publicly :laughga: Early bird catches the worm kinda thing, if you wake up early but then take ages getting ready or go back to sleep then you're not going to get the worm :emma:

Since when are you a fan? She did say on littlemonsters that she wanted to make a music video for every song on the album.

Since 2009 (I have the receipts) :laughga:, I'm on littlemonsters.com (don't remember my flop times there) and at that time I was everyday there :toofunny:

but the person is blaming Troy and saying Gaga was ahead and that's not true.

I'm sure she said something like at least 5 videos or 5 singles?

I thought a visual album is an album with videos ready to be released with the album

How was Gaga ahead of her time when she didn't even flipping do a visual album? Saying it on a web forum is not the same as doing it. :laughga:

Like many stated, Beyoncé did a visual album in 2006 so Gaga really wasn't "ahead" of anything.

However I would love to see Gaga take the approach of Lemonade where every song/video merges into the next, creating both a cohesive album and film.
