The GP doesn't find her controversial anymore..  They are numb to her.  She overdid it so much for several years, that it's the opposite.  Whatever she does wouldn't be controversial or shock anyone coming from her, more like expected and so no impact for controversy value.

I agree .  Although, "most people" don't think she ALWAYS put out **** music.  The GP came out in droves for the Fame/Fame Monster era and loved those two albums.  It's why Born This Way sold so much when it first debuted, strong first week sales, coming off such huge success from the previous era and people anticipating new music by her, and it's been downhill ever since.

An amazing album is what is truly needed.  She needs her Abbey Road or Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band, where the acclaim is there from critics and music buyers as something fresh, innovative, and, most importantly, great music, and the controversy for those two albums was in the evolution and experimenting of different styles and sounds from their previous music...

To be honest, at this point she could achieve a big success through the music only. At least for me that's the right strategy, and it's what she's been working towards since 2014. I'm not saying her fashion choices should be dull during the era, but she definitely wants to be in eveyrone's mouth for the right reasons - the music, not the concept, not the dress. These should be complementary not the highlight. I hope she will be back on top of her game as long as the music is the driving force. Leave the cheap controversy to those who can't afford quality.
