Spock 20,290
She's applying the "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" saying to the cheating situation. Jay Z cheated (life handed her lemons), it sucks and she can't make that "unhappen", but she can take that and turn it into something positive (make lemonade) which is forgiveness, and trying to put it in the past. So the album is literally her lemonade, if that makes sense? who will love me when the night is over
Vodka 4,478
I'm still thoroughly enjoying her visual album. It's top-notch quality, it's so earthy and really compliments the music. I'm digging the themes of heartbreak, anguish, and the overall emotional vulnerability that Bey's captured for us. The theme of making lemonade out of the lemons life gives you is a simple concept, but it was effective and the relativity of her situation really made something truly meaningful. Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad.

That is what LEMONADE is about. It is about accepting your heritage, loving your family and being in love. I like that, it's another set of themes to think about, aside from the main narrative of Jay's (supposed?) infidelity. Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad. Yeah, I mean take 'Daddy Lessons' for example. You can hear Blues & Country influences, it is about her family. The whole aesthetics have been very organic and she showed Louisiana architecture and lifestyle, as well as mentioning her family and heritage, in Formation. Freedom is about breaking free. And the rest is about love & sex.

Sure, the main narrative was controversial itself, but I really like that Bey really made the music's visuals multi-layered and multi-themed. Of course it'd be expected of her to have many themes on her record, but I just loved the fact that she really incorporated other concepts into the film. She didn't have to do so, but of course, I'm very glad she did. And so well done too, if I might add. Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad.
