Bey, God knows I love you. I've seen you twice on tour, have tickets for this, slept once outside on the street, been here since Crazy In Love, but wtf is this ****?

Of course I'm going to buy it and listen to it a bunch of times, and of course there are always going to be those who are always going to suck her ****, but on a first listen I'm so disappointed.

???????????

Are you high?

Maybe you just were putting your expectations on this record too much (like everyone here did with ARTPOP) and it dissapointed.

I'm honestly shocked anyone could be dissapointed in this album. It's by far and a landslide her best album yet.

I was a casual Beyonce listener, always liked her but didn't pay too much attention....this album COMPLETELY changed that tonight. I'll definitely be standing for her this year! This record....It just has all the kinks to be the perfect pop record: eclectic yet still a consistent message, well produced, surprising at points but in a way that's good, has catchy moments but still experiments, and also has a meaningful message.

This is her Fame Monster. It's a really ****ing good album.

It's weird. I love Formation but to me it feels a little out of place with the rest of the album

I HAVE THE SAME FEELING, maybe as track 1, but I'm still 50/50 about it on the final album :duck:

I think it's meant to be the kind of classic Beyonce song that feels triumphant at the end. That's the vibe I got. I'm on my third listen. It was a bit jarring first full listen but makes more sense the second time because at the end of "All Night" it explains why the album is about making good out of the worst (make sour lemons into sweet lemonade)....and then it finishes on this big high note about feeling good about yourself because the future can be good. Like....Formation means get ready....we've been through so much...now we can get together and slay the future.

Lol IDK if that makes any sense.

It's also cool because it hints at her next album the way "BEYONCE" did. Beyonce ended her fifth album hinting at feminism, which this record wildly embraces along with stories of racial adversity. LEMONADE ends suggesting she might...just maybe....be hinting at a gay record. Her inclusiveness of transgender and gay culture on the final track seems to start to embrace that...and she hasn't ever given a big musical take on lgbt. Maybe this phase of her career she really wants to reach out to different social issues.

This album is so powerful, Bey has outdone herself. accompanied by the visuals, it really opposes ST for her best creative work. I'm not ready to pick a favorite between the two yet.

I'll just enjoy the album in the meantime. 6 inch, All Night, Hold Up, Freedom and Sorry are my faves now. :excited2:

Once I regain full eyesight, I need to watch it. #cripple

This is big, though. From what I've seen, Bey's being innovative as only she can. The other Pop Gurls, including our Queen LG, need to sit up straight and take notes. This is what competence is, this is what quality is.

Tidal is.. a flop, but still. Placing it on HBO makes up for it. Bey has not come for blood, she has come for lives.
