KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
Why do people buy music once the artist is dead? The money doesn't go to him and he can't enjoy the success. It's ****ing sad that people only remembers someone once they have passed. Meh! ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

Ugh... it's not like he needed the money and he has enjoyed plenty of success already. And it is sad that he is dead but i don't get why it's sad that people are remembering him and preserving his memory by buying his music?

When I buy music I buy it because I like the artist. If they liked him, they could've got it before... He hasn't had a hit for years, i think he would have been glad to be seen on the charts in these past years, but now they're making him successful again once he can't enjoy it now. Useless. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

Most of the sales are actually older people that were his fans, so they did actually like him. Sure there are definitely a couple of attention seekers and trend followers that only bought it because he is a legend that just died but they are in the minority im sure. And obviously a song from 1980's will not be charting in 2016 just because it is good.... why would it? They aren't "making him successful again" because he was never "unsuccessful", like i said, they are just preserving his memory for themselves and are carving his legendary status in stone once and for all. For example the song "Purple Rain" which i am a huge fan of, i would never go to youtube to listen to it or something, but if i hear it on a tv show or somewhere else, i love it and know all the words. That wouldn't prompt me to buy it on itunes, but him dying right now makes me feel nostalgic and sad so i would go buy it so i could remember him every time i check my library or playlist and remember what a huge legend he was. StrawberryBlond 14,880
Streaming wise, he's not on any platform, right? If you don't have that now, you struggle to even make the top ten, I believe. It's a shame so much percentage is put on streaming now. Still, if anything did dethrone Work, this would be a great choice.
