Who cares? Have some respect.

It's not like he was a terrorrist who killed thousands or a dictator who enslaved millions.

He was a man with an opinion, yes some people are racist, homophobic, etc.

That doesn't mean we have to bring all their shortcomings up when they die.

No one is a saint. We all have flaws.

So when someone died I should just forget all the bad things they done or said? As long as its not terrorism? Sorry but no.

I respected him as an artist but he was not a very good person. Still I give his family my condolences. Losing a loved one is always very hard.

Why is anyone surprised the bitter, self-loathing, queens on Gaga Daily find it en vogue to sh!t talk someone who recently died? People have no respect today, its deplorable. It makes you people worse that them, tbh.

I'm not going to pretend I liked an artist or that I like their music just because they're dead.

saying something nice or not saying anything at all isn't a notion I would normally follow but in the event of death it's more than a little asshole-ish not to.

but if practicing your freedom of disrespectful speech there where people mourn is your thing, continue being your not any lovelier than Prince self.

I think it's because he believed everyone is bisexual and simply more or less sexual and homosexuality and heterosexuality don't make any sense. funny how Bjork and Bowie don't receive the same hate for sharing the same belief.

actually, I almost forgot people here trashed Bowie when he died for having said he was gay in 1972 (which was performance art) and later "coming out" as bisexual. truly the devil lol

I never said that. I said don't bring it up freshly after their death. It's classless and insensitive.

Another unique and talented artist is taken from us too soon. There are so many people that enjoyed his songs and shows. This is another sad day for the music world.  :(

While I certainly had my issues with him, the death of a legend in music is always a sad thing. There's one thing that's really coming into my mind now - his label should put his entire discography on YouTube, so this generation and generations before, can witness his music. Prince was famous for his strict beliefs when it came to copyright and didn't allow any of his music online for free, meaning the only way you could listen to his music was to buy it. He didn't even allow snippets of his songs to be used in fair use cases and if anyone did a Prince cover and uploaded it online, it got removed. But the problem with this was, it meant those growing up in the digital age were almost completely ignorant about his music. I was born in 1989 and even I don't know all his music apart from exactly 5 songs (Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, Darling Nikki, When Doves Cry and Diamonds And Pearls). Because he didn't make his music widely available, his new material, as well as his old work, is unknown in the new age. Now that he's passed, I think his label should do the right thing and put it all out there. He doesn't need the money anymore and the only people profitting off of it will be greedy label executives, so who cares? If Prince was such a great artist, I want to witness what made him so great. I can't do that if his music is unavailable to me. I'm not going to go out and buy every single one of his many albums without giving them a try first. Prince's legacy will never die but his legacy is certainly lost on a lot of people below the age of 30 and this will only continue as time goes on if his music is still kept so secretive and controlled. Ensure future generations can be educated about Prince by having his music available, record labels - you know it's right.

I wasn't even talking to you but "giving your condolences to his family" who aren't present here doesn't change the fact that there's people here to whom he meant a lot and you're likely to make them feel even worse about his death.

...so many members are such fake liberal thinkers, it's real rotten in here.

Some of you really need to be educated on what needs to be said. If you wouldn't say it at his funeral, you shouldn't say it on an online forum in front of a bunch of people.

I don't call many things stupid, but some of you test my patience with humanity.

Anyways, it is sad that another icon has been taken from this world. Truly sad. I may not have been a fan but this will seriously effect all of his.

Truly sad, an icon for even icons has been taken away.
