There's no point trying to argue with people who are blind and ignorant so goodbye. You'll all see when LG5 is released. Just do the rest of us a favour and don't come here to bitch and complain that it's not what you wanted as if you specifically are so important. Because we'll all be jamming her funky jazz disco beats too loud to listen. Based on other threads today, lots of fans here want LG5 to be a Britney Spears album. What a huge step backwards for pop music that would be. building a daydream

So apparently she needs to start making more Adele ballads (yawn...) and Amy Winehouse-style bops because she is so insecure that she can't hold off her own style anymore after what happened with ARTPOP. What people need to understand is that, we became Gaga fans for a reason. It could be for her image, her message, her talent, and a very big one of course: her music. Many of us became her fans after hearing bops like Bad Romance, Poker Face etc. So it's natural that what we like about and come to expect of Gaga is dance-pop music. She can still evolve in many ways, but there's an essence to it that we will always come to expect from Gaga, and to be frank, it might sound stubborn, but part of it is for her style of creating dance songs. I'm not saying she can't do what she wants to do with her music. She can do whatever she wants, nobody can stop her. But it's only normal that many Gaga fans will be disappointed if her new material is not what they expected. We can't stan for something just because it has the name 'Gaga' slapped on it. It needs to feel like 'Gaga', or at least what we expect of Gaga. Not somebody else. Not Adele. Not Amy Winehouse. I know might sound stubborn and close-minded, but I'm just speaking out from my heart. Excuse me? NO. Who the F+uck said they want Gaga doing Adele style music? My problem with the dance stuff is IT'S ALL GAGA HAS BEEN DOING FOR HER PAST 3 ALBUMS! There's a whole spectrum of music Gaga is capable of and should invest some time making. Rock, punk, country, metal, pop ballads, rock ballads, power ballads. And in fact, most monsters became monsters with the Paparazzi performance on the VMAs, it was that artistic edge we fell in love with, as well as the sound of Paparazzi, which in fact, IS NOT dance, it's pop, Gaga called it one of her truly real pop songs, meaning it goes by the "guidelines" of what a pop song is, or was before all this combining pop and dance and electronica became an it thing. And FYI, if you've been paying attention to what Gaga says about pop music, you'd recall she said on multiple occasions, Pop music is hard for her, those dance songs are hard for her, it's hard for her to commercialize her ideas and make them acceptable in pop. She also talked about how she become discouraged by how when she plays songs for label execs, they often tell her to make it more pop and commercial, again which is hard for her to do. If anything is natural to her, more so than the jazz, it's what she was doing in those venues with Starlight, the rock songs, as well as the original ideas she had for an album that were scrapped because she and Rob Fusari didn't feel label execs would like it or allow her to do with a debut album - and that is the rock ballads that echo the sound of the Beatles and the Strokes and classic 80s hair bands. And those piano performances Gaga delivers during her tours where she pulls back the reigns and does acoustics, that's more who she is than the pop and dance. Lady Gaga is so influenced by rock and metal bands, aesthetically and musically, an album like that would be great for her, she in fact said with Born This Way, that music is more her area, which was rock and metal infused and echo the sound of rock hits by women like Pat Benatar. And what most Monsters ACTUALLY like from Gaga is the unexpected, not "what they expect" as you put it. ARTPOP in all honesty is exactly what they said they wanted from Gaga, that dance music, but then look, they bad mouthed it and declared it a flop, when it was originally what THEY SAID THEY WANTED GAGA TO DO in the months leading up to the album. Monsters have a tendency to sit around saying they want this, they want that from Gaga, but then when she delivers exactly what they want, they back track and bad mouth it. Right now, Gaga is at a crossroads in her career, she has a chance to totally reinvent her sound and what will become expected of her in the future, to go back to the typical dance pop songs that made her a commercial success would be the biggest mistake of her career and will cause the cycle to begin again, a cycle of rising to the top with the dance crap, being expected to make it, then deemed a flop when the next project under performs. She has a real chance to start over musically and redefine her sound in music, if you can't see that and you don't want her to do that, you're, well, I won't say it here. AND also, Gaga wanted to explore that more rock country style as heard in YOU AND I, if you recall during her first performance of the song at the Monster Ball, Gaga talked about the song with such pride but clearly stated it may not be on Born This Way because the label might declare it not pop enough or what the fans want from her, just like the label disputed Gaga with the brunette cover of The Fame Monster, they wanted the blonde one because "it's what the public has come to recognize her as, a blonde popstar." She fought, and ultimately got it as an alternate cover. "I'm a rockstar." - Lady Gaga Go see A Star is Born
MelbHawker 6,583
I personally would love for LG5 to really push her vocals to another level; one that goes noticed by the masses. I do not want her selling out and putting out an album full of ballads though.. I don't think anyone means doing exactly that when 'she needs to showcase her vocals' is stated. I want her putting out an album that she is passionate about; that's all. I want music that's from her and a result of whatever stage she's at in her life. I want high quality music. MaryJaneHolland 77,348
may we clean this **** up? the 'ballad formula' won't work for Gaga as it works for Adele. Adele releases a ballad and it's a massive hit. If Gaga releases a ballad 100 times better than adele's it won't be as successful as adele's, because adele is known for the ballads, and gaga for dance-pop, the gp is accustomed to this that's it, long story short
