Tbf she changes her mind about why she dresses weird every couple of years. During the very early years, she admitted she only dressed strangely to be "shamelessly attention-seeking." Then she said she was just Born This Way. Then she said she dressed that way to "cover up the pain." Now she's saying she dresses crazy if she's feeling crazy and sexy when she's feeling sexy. 

I mean... I guess it's a combination of all those things, as well as a fantastic marketing strategy. But it just makes me laugh how she says different things every few years.

Omg, no surprises here, more bashing nad complaining than actually talking about the content. Some of you could have said thank you maybe for having this interview translated... instead of complaining about well EVERYTHING  

Anyway, thanks to the OP for providing this to us. I find it particularly interesting especially the bold part. It's related to her WOTY interview, when she spoke about the perfection again. And remember how everyone read what they want to - most members literally decided she was bashing BTW and ARTPOP and praising TF/TFM for embodying the perfection. I'm so happy to see this as a confirmation they're just desperate biased as$h*les wanting the #1s on the charts and sales.   Something that sets BTW and AP is the heart they have and how broken they are (in very different ways ofc).

She said that AHS helped her put a lot of her pain and reduce her depression in a way. So LG5 would be less painful cause she found a way to tackle it but it would still have some pain. Which is good I believe. Making a record that will not be about perfection, but it will be instead real, to her. She will have something important to say with the album, so it would be personal and social and will have pain, passion. I think this time unlike during ARTPOP, the pain will be less so it won't prevent her from making bad decision about the music itself, she will be able to channel it into something in particular as opposed to AP which is like an outburst of passion, anger and pain.  

Such statements make me so excited for the time ahead of us. I can't help wondering what's she has in store for us. So many questions not only related to the sound and the music but also the whole who is Lady Gaga thing. How she will position the album? A continuation of all her albums by bridigng them? Or a new start, really putting the first 4 albums as the beginning of her career? Will she open a new arc of music thematically related (Art of Dakrness) just like TF/TFM/AP are Art of Fame?

I think her earlier statements were part of the act you know. Matching the theme of the album she was promoting. But the pain statement and this latest one matches well, I think. It's not a contradiction. I think feeling crazy is a way of expressing her passionate and suffering individuality, the classyGa is the confident one, who's admired by legends, plays and sings in front of the elite in society, she is well recognised now, no longer the outcast, appreciated only by her Monsters.
