There are two stars guys, I don't remember when, but there was once in Thailand like a photocall by interscope with the background of the ARTPOP cover, and there were two, the one that is visible and the other was somewhere on the top where Gagas sculpture head is placed

I'm pretty sure it's just there because it is. You can apply what you think to it but Jeff was probably just like "lol put a star here"

That's actually a normal behavior when it comes to conceptual art. But since it's Gaga it could be hiding a reference/meaning.

I always thought that star was supposed to mirror the camera flash in the Koons ball. We consume modern art and Renaissance art in the same way nowadays: when you go on vacation and visit a museum, you want evidence of all the art you have seen, so you take a picture with your camera phone and post it on social media. You might not even be interested in the art; you just take a photo to affirm your existence. Art, whether it's old or new, just becomes another experience for you to say "I was here." The disposable nature of it these days is similar to how we consume pop culture. It's all over in a camera flash.

It reminds me of this quote by Koons:

“With the cover, I wanted to have Gaga there as a sculpture, as a three-dimensional type of form and with the gazing ball, because the gazing ball really does become kind of the symbol for everything — and this aspect of reflection that when you come across something like a gazing ball, it affirms you, it affirms your existence and then from that affirmation, you start to want more.”

I know it's a huge reach, but that's just my interpretation based on what Gaga was saying during the ARTPOP era. For all we know, Gaga and Koons were just smoking a joint and the star doesn't mean anything.  :laughga:

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!
