I don't think Billboard has ever said the more you sell the greater your chance is at being Woman of the Year. Gaga wasn't even on the charts last year.

I mean surely sales will be considered but I don't think they are solely the things Billboard takes into consideration.

Maybe they chose her because no 3rd time for Taylor, and the other girls weren't THAT slaying in the charts

Adele is obviously a contender but I think there are better candidates.

Why not, if she was as active and prominent as she was last year.

Not just always in music but in entertainment business world in general, and all.media reporting her.

I like Kesha but she hasn't accomplished anything this year. Yes she is dealing with a difficult case but it's more of a personal battle than career accomplishment.

but it's called Woman of the Year for a reason, having tremendous accomplishments in two months don't give you that title. Also they selected the winner very early on so Billboard didn't snub her since she was active just a while before the event, but yeah she is a contender.
