Why?

where's the lyrical depth?
what's the inspiration of the song?
where's the melody?

yes, these are broad factors and may not apply to every artist or song, but i only consider these points because there are artists who aren't even acknowledged on the Billboard Hot 100 or any chart.
it just is frustrating for me, idk i think i'm too passionate :toofunny:

So is this the first time that a potential Hot 100 #1 is lacking those things, in your eyes?

Oh, okay. That's why I'm confused that you consider it 'bizarre' that a song like this would be so successful.

It's Kanye's fault. He took a part of the song and added it to one of his songs in TLOP.

And it's pretty damn good! Beat and flow is hard hitting tbh. Like, the beat fits the flow perfectly, and vice versa. You may not hear it but the beat is different bc it's very hard, don't know how to explain it with better words haha. So, you mix that up and the fact that Desiigner is very unknown, well, people are curious and listen to it :)

Also, it's free on YouTube so it's easily available for everybody (without some countries)

I agree, It's not a bad song out of all the songs that are mainstream these days but it's all about preference, there is something special about this song not in the sense of lyrical depth but the beats and bass and lyrical flow are innovative & fresh in my opinion I haven't heard anything like it. :D

i heard it laid over a cute video about pandas and i immediately liked it, googled the lyrics, and put it on my ipod. it's just a good hip hop (w/e) song imo. idk i always have a soft spot for hip hop/ rap ****.

but it's good as a stand alone song not because of kanye or whatever else i didn't even know about that.

RAMROD

It is a decent song, but I mean, if you are not into this kind of music then you'll find it hard why it is good.
