When Elton John said that Gaga was going back to the early stuff...

Do you think he meant that she's going back to her early influences? Because this is what I'm feeling and this is my theory:

Gaga is going right back to her early influences from before she became famous. Rock, jazz and disco. She's starting fresh as if her career has just begun. She's not in competition with her old work, she's not trying to make anything comparative to her old work, but rather she is going about LG5 as if she is just beginning. She's reminded herself where she started, why she started, and what music made her want to start. 

Rather than a The Fame 2.0 or TFMonser 2.0 or BTW 2.0. she's going about LG5 as if she is writing her first album, inspired by the same music that has always inspired her, but with a more mature, 30 year old woman's perspective. 

This feels the most right to me, given that she's spoken so many times in depth about having wanted to quit pop music, being influenced again by jazz, rock and disco. Because she has been talking about and posting about disco music lately. Because of the range of producers who she's chosen to work with.

So in a way, I'm feeling that we will get The Fame 2.0 with all of it's disco glory, only it will come with with deeper meanings like in TFMonster and BTW, rock influences like in BTW,  with her exercising the creative freedom she developed during the ARTPOP era, written by a more mature, grown woman rather than a 21 year old.

Think... The Fame Gaga/pre The Fame Gaga almost 10 years later with lots of life experience. I'm not good at explaining the visuals and feelings in my head so sorry about ranting this much while trying to explain it in an understandable way...

honestly i hope not...i don't want gaga to be like TFM again..like a want the new music to slay in a different way, i want her to change the direction of POP again like she did before and i don't think disco and rock music will do that but i hope i'm wrong

In a way starting fresh with her original influences would naturally create those kinds of songs again. But I imagine a more mature twist on those older songs. I don't know how to explain it apart from 'mature' :P

YESSS this is exactly what i want but I also want (a few songs) that sound like music we would NEVER expect but songs that are soooo futuristic and so unique and so gaga other-worldly that they COMPLETELY SLAY OUR LIVES

I don't mean that she's going backwards per se... just that she has maybe reminded herself of who inspired her originally and is sort of refreshing her mind and creative spirit. I don't know tbh if she will ever change the direction of pop entirely, that's not easy to do again! But what I do know is that if she writes with disco and rock influences, and the album happens to become popular and chart well, it will influence pop music. Whenever she does something different and it pays off, everyone else tends to follow suit

YES. I agree. She's always good at adding that Gaga twist though. There's always at least one song that is different and unique and fresh. I am still bitter about Venus' music video being scrapped.

It does make sense and I agree. She's going into it with a really fresh mind. ARTPOP broke her and changed her perspective on life, the music business, and who actually cares about her. C2C brought her happiness back and reminded her that it is the older greats, and old legendary music that is important to her. She changed her management and said she wants to live more freely to do exactly what she wants. So this next album will for sure be 'pure'

Oh I forgot she said that! That makes sense too. She was rebelling and getting all of her immaturity out. Getting rid of her need to be reckless and say f*ck you to the music industry. She's done that now, pissed people off, changed the people in her life, and is now ready to go back into it with a clear head and new direction!
