Ā It was the only was to see videos because the only two big streaming services at the time Pandora and Spotify didn't have videos. So if you were huge during the end of 2012 -2014 and even the beginning of 2015. Also back when Gaga was huge on YT. YT didn't have a very good system of counting views. Many views were lost from the beginning o YT until about the end of 2013 when YT had a lot of wham cement to keep track of views especially since souring that time the hot100 added YT in their charting formula. And also during the time when Gaga was not as popular as Katy that was the time Katy blasted off kick everyone's but in YT views. Even now YT views are notĀ Ā what they used to be thanks to Todal Exclusives and Apple Music exclusives and just the fact Ā that they seem to be getting massive views on Apple Music and Tidal. That's about 7 to eight million subscribers watching the videos on streaming services rather than YT. Even videos that were huge in 2014 and 2015 slowed down fast after streamingĀ services uploaded there videos. Controversy of epic proportions. It was a statement; artistically, musically, socially. It was #1 for 6 weeks. I fail to see how it's been viewed less times than the 'Applause' Video.Ā Same with Telephone & Alejandro. Those videos were EVERYWHERE. Especially Telephone.
