Pierre 10,480
TBH fair, it wasn't 100% fault of Judas or G.U.Y, poor sis were killed by Edge of glory and the DWUW mess. ❝Is not blue, not turquoise, not lapis. It's actually cerulean❞.

Don't even lie. That wouldn't happen ever. Just bland fan favourites like scheisse OT: I guess I want her to release most interesting stuff instead of the safest stuff. But it's not up to her. I love Marry the Night but the chorus is too noisy for radios. You need really good speakers to make it sound pleasant. The outro is as noisy as Swine's beatbreak if you don't have good speakers. Gaga's studio bus (in which she recorded this song) seemed to have recorded her vocals roughly (same happens to Highway Unicorn and Americano). The amount of instrumentals inserted into this song is just too much. The video is also not at all GP friendly. I mean it's 13-minute long and it shows a nude Lady Gaga pouring cereal on herself, with makeup all over her face. I love the video and its direction but again, critics and fans are the only ones who will love and appreciate it. The GP especially a lot of people who don't speak or understand English (thus do not understand Gaga's narrative) will dismiss her as weird, a sicko, etc.

Oh c'mon, it's no where near as loud as Swine is... I mean the vocals on MTE sound alright to me, and besides like I said before. Judas is way too repetitive & lets not forget when we're talking about which song is GP friendly. Your song is called JUDAS! Egypt. W
Glory 2,247
Since BTW she had difficulties to choose the 2nd single, mostly because of these promotional songs. So LG5 no promotional songs before it drops please, and stick to your 2nd single. It has too be better than the first one if she wants her era to be big : like Blank Space > Shake It Off. 1st single : Pop/Funk Bop of the year 2st single : Power house song, where she can showcase her voice to promeet the album 3st single : Whatever she wants, the most importants are the 2 first one. Your song is called JUDAS! Btw I edited my above post to support why Marry the Night is not GP friendly. I said Judas was more GP-friendly than Marry the Night but I never said Judas was GP-friendly. Before she chose all of her singles from Born This Way, I predicted that Marry the Night would underperform. It's the exact opposite a radio needs and does not possess the qualities her past hits like Alejandro, Telephone, Poker Face, LoveGame had. In 2011, I consider myself half a GP, cause I couldn't easily enjoy her more experimental songs like I do today, so believe me when I say something is not a good single choice (for commercial success). ScheiBe was obviously a better choice if you want sales. The vocals in Marry the Night, Americano and Highway Unicorn are obviously different. When the official version of the songs came out I thought they were LQ when in fact they were HQ. The 'I'm gonna marry!' part is rough, actually the whole chorus is. Then the second verse sounds fine again. aHHH AHHH AHHH aMERICAH AMERICANOOOOOOO these parts sound rough af.

Your song is called JUDAS! Judas kinda saved her in my country. BTW was quite big but Judas was everything. Don't be misled by the religious theme. It's a very good example that such song can be huge in a Christian country. MTN was barely heard on the radio, everyone had had enough of her by that time. Judas is the more GP friendly song musically because it's more simple. MTN is the typical BTW song - great message, but there's too much noise going on there, which for the radio is a turn-off. Also, I have to point something curious about ARTPOP singles as well. Several weeks ago, at a party friends begged me to play Gaga hits. So they started remembering hits to put in a playlist - the only song they remembered from BTW was Judas which to me was not surprising since it was the biggest song back then, but they asked me to put G.U.Y.... My jaw dropped - first of all they knew and liked an ARTPOP song, and out of all they wanted me to blast not Applause but GUY. My country is the Queen of unpredictable Gaga hits with the GP. @Tom Hardy Honey, spill more tea. Do we know which songs from BTW were recorded in the bus? Cause this might explain my feel with BTW that at times the recording sounds unfinished or unprofessional - could it be due to this?

I still think it would have done much better if released as a second single instead of the last single. I think as fans we tend to over analyze these things more than the regular GP does. But I also agree that ScheiBé would have SLAYYYYYYED them ALL!!!!!!!! EDIT: All of my friends who were just casual Gaga fans, always loved MTN & would always BOP to it. But Judas, not so much..
