Does anyone here secretly wants Gaga to go back to being 'basic'?

Love, creation, shifting personas, what it means to be a creative person. At least that's what I've always gotten out of it. The themes you cited are there, as they are in all of her albums, to some degree. But I think what sets each of her works apart is the story told by the bigger picture (see first sentence).

That's what she wants ARTPOP to be about, but it didn't work as well as she liked.

It happens to every form of art. You have this idea and you try to execute it like in your head but viewers/ consumers doesn't always react the way you wanted to.

She tried to make something new but half way fell back into making themes she already explored. If she continued her promotion like Applause' performance then maybe it would have worked. Applause' performances were some of the most creative.

While a lot of the same themes appeared in Born This Way, the overall main theme of self love, be proud, and religion were so strong that they masked the rest.

ARTPOP's themes are too confusing, too weak, too forced to come through; the GP never understood it.

Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone

I have no idea what she originally wanted ARTPOP to be about. That is what I take away from it.  As to the second point, where you may see confusion, I see complexity. Forced? I don't get that at all. In fact, that is the one area the album could have improved in, being more specific in its message.

In any case, I highly doubt the GP was ever meant to appreciate it. Particularly in the pop market, most of top 40 is crafted to appeal to the lowest common denominator (so that a 10 year-old could potentially understand it), so I applaud Gaga always coloring outside of those lines, and respecting her listeners enough to not spell. everything. out.

This, exactly.

Gaga has always been creative. Gaga has never been basic.

I live outside the space time continuum.

confusion: you just said it yourself, you don't know what she wants with ARTPOP, if that's not confusion IDK what is

forced: from interviews she said she wanted to reverse pop art, instead let art be in the front and celebrate your creativity. She was trying to start a phenomenon but she only achieved it through Applause, Venus, and ARTPOP.

At least I didn't hear anything about being creative, please direct me to which part of which song because I haven't listen to ARTPOP for a while.

I never said you couldn't state your opinions. In fact, I never mentioned you at all. I referred to this fan base as a whole.

She's never been basic, dahling. Let me stop you there.

I understand your point of view, but the quality of the music has always been the best. She can do better, but she hasn't been basic.

Nope. I want the fey queen that is ARTPOP Gaga to stay while all the bitchy fans go away.

I thoroughly enjoyed ARTPOP, and I am excited for whatever LG5 is going to be, and I can't wait for for JazzGa.

I loved everything about ARTPOP besides the promotion that ruined the era. Debate it all you want. I'm here for artists reinventing themselves if she stayed the same I wouldn't be a fan. I like to see artists grow. Bring on the crazy Gaga. I'm not here for the Jazz though. I purposely missed that era. I tried, but I was like let her do her side projects. I'm here for LG5 (LG4).

No hard feelings though, it's nothing personal. :)

Reinvention is not always growth

You can also decline into a shell of the greatness you used to be

I agree you can decline, however I think she does need to reinvent herself from her ARTPOP self, I'm excited tbh
