Taylor doesn't own Gaga, nor is she his responsibility. People have the right to make their own decisions concerning their body. Yes, I know, but he's a very close person, apart from her parents and sister, and I'm sure he wants the best for her. These procedures are clearly not making any favour to her (unnatural fillers on her face, bloated face, aged skin...) and if my partner or best friend were doing the same I would tell them - in a polite way - to stop. You have the right to do what you want to do with your body, as it belongs to you. Then, the person you are in a relationship with has the right to accept it...or not. They are both adults, no one in a relationship should tell the other person what to do with their own body.

Well I didn't say they should tell them what to do, but they get to have some input I would think. I mean you are in a shared relationship. It doesn't imply you need their approval of course. I agree on that. I suppose it boils down to how you view a mutual relationship. In my personal opinion, it involves a great deal of sharing. Edited just now by LebaneseDude. It's her face. It belongs to her and her alone. If my best friend told me to "stop" doing something I was doing with my appearance, they wouldn't be my friend anymore. freebit 6,240
Glad it was success. Love that pic of her with that one kid, lol. Anyway, I think she definitely looked odd this winter, but looking at these pics I think she looks...fine? (Dare I say good? ). I don't understand the meltdowns this time. In my personal opinion, it involves a great deal of sharing. That sharing may not include telling the other person what to do or not to do with their appearance. Some people and some relationships are more shallow than others. Some people do actually care more for the heart and soul of a person, versus so much based on the outward appearance. I know it is often a foreign concept here, but after five years, perhaps Taylor and Gaga have a mutual respect and deeper connection that isn't based on what they see in their partner on the outside. I'm Lebanese so I'm quite shallow in some regards :P Hey it's part of my culture. My best friend points it out all the time. We share our opinions about each other relentlessly. We mean well! :P I like it when my partner tells me how I could look better for him whether through an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction or a cuter hair style. A past boyfriend helped me up my confidence quite a bit I agree though. These are trivial matters and should not actually affect the relationship. They're just the cherry on top. Taylor has no right to tell her what to ultimately do, but in my humble opinion, as a partner he is justified to having an opinion that is constructive because ultimately he knows Gaga the most outside of family. Then, that is something that you like and you have given your partner permission to share those comments with you. That is mutual respect. Now, if that wasn't okay with you and he did it anyhow, that would be problematic. Everyone also has a right to be in whatever type of relationship they prefer and to be with the type of person that they want to be with. People should set their own boundaries inside of relationships. Saying that one person in a relationship should intervene and tell the other person what to do with their body, when we aren't in that relationship, is what's problematic. Taylor is only justified, if Gaga and he have that type of understanding and have both given each other permission to that type of input.

I would think though that after all they've been through, it's clear they have a deep mutual respect for one another. I admire Taylor for sticking with Gaga through her rough patches. Many would have bailed. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.

That's what a long term relationship ends up being about, two people who stick with each other through issues they never thought they would have to deal with in their relationships.
