Melanie Martinez a diva but Gaga a saint? (discussion)

Okay well this was originally a parody thread about the Melanie bashing threads here on GGD, but it became a discussion about the topic so I'm editing it to match the comments.

I was basically saying that even though Melanie got annoyed at her audience talking over her, you guys are forgetting that even Gaga, who has a super thick skin, and was prepared for fame before she was even famous, can get still pissed off too. Because they're human beings with emotions and feelings.

LOL okay if it wasn't obvious, I'm saying that people were really harsh about Melanie Martinez getting annoyed at her audience talking over her, and everyone was saying that Gaga is a little saint, but she, with her thick skin and high patience levels, has had her diva moments too, because their job can hard when people don't treat you like a human being any more. Also Melanie is young and wasn't prepared for this weird treatment like Gaga already was before she was famous.

I was comparing to this hate thread which reached number 4 top topics on GGD today:

Its not about geting mad and all, Gaga has been mad with fans, but the thing is that Melanie just doesnt really understand what it means to be a popular artist, so yeah she can get mad but it's unfair to walk away from them just because you where a little uncomfortable about a photo or someone shouting that they love you while you where speaking. At least thats what I think

Just because people dont like her doesnt mean its a hate thread. Noone was burning her at the ****in stake, people are allowed to dislike a person who's backhanded and shady towards people who clearly admire her work.

There have definitely been moments I've seen where Gaga has gotten pissed at fans too (because she's a human being with feelings and emotions), I just couldn't for the life of me find them.You're right, Melanie doesn't understand what it's like. She gets anxious and nervous and emotional, and has spoken out before about how she doesn't like that people stop treating you like a human being when you become popular. She COULD have dealt with these situations, you're totally right, but again she's very new to this, she became very popular very fast. And she's only a timid little 20 year old, she still has time to learn and adapt to her new life.

I'm just saying that people here really went crazy bashing her over it and that's just ridiculous, they could cut her just a little slack.

(And regarding the Halsey indicent, and those comparisons, I see that as slightly different because Halsey actually went out of her way to come down from the hotel room to yell out at them)

People would bash Gaga if she did **** like Melanie did in that video, age makes no difference. You don't get slack just because you became famous rapidly at a young age. 

It happened to Shawn Mendes (whose music i'm not a fan of), but he's still graceful and really thankful of his fans for putting him where he is at such a fast pace. I don't see how you can excuse Melanie.

You're absolutely right, sooner or later she'll learn to handle it or at least to ask for her space without looking like a total bitch or something like that, and like you say she's only 20 she has much to learn and hopefully by the end of the year shell be much more confident when shes around all her fans who love her

You're right. You don't get any slack when you rapidly become famous at a young age. That's the whole problem. 

I've seen Melanie get emotional and cry over the fact that people at her shows sing every word to a song that she wrote from her heart, and she says how that's what music all about. She is appreciative as well, but little nasties from other fandoms don't see that side. Selective vision. Selective hearing. Always wanting other artists to be terrible so their fav looks better.

The way Melanie did it was immature and childish. I get that adult-baby is her aesthetic but she's 20 years old, not 13. If someone is screaming "I love you" in the middle of a speech, I don't think that justifies her snapping back the way she did. There were a bunch of other people who were actually listening to her talk and were not bothered by that one obnoxious fan so she should have ignored it and kept on talking. But she's childish.

I understand that and I do agree, and
I also get that she's finding touring tough at the moment. Mrs. Potato Head is a song that is really misunderstood and she's had some flack for it. She was trying really hard to tell the audience the real meaning of the song, and that she isn't trying to insult anyone with the song, but noone was listening.

I think she could've handled it better, but at the same time I know how snappy I can be when I'm tired and noone is listening and keeps talking over me so...
