Teenage vegans/vegetarians like PETA because they find kinship in PETA's aggression and in-your-face tactics. PETA offers free started kits to young vegans; buttons, stickers, leaflets, etc.

Celebrities like PETA because doing campaigns for PETA gives them a safe way to appear politically and socially conscious while also raising their public profile.

And then there are plenty of rational vegans, like myself, who have no choice to but to find value in PETA, because it is the only organization that routinely snaps the public's attention back to the suffering of animals.

PETA sucks, PETA is imperfect, but until there is an organization dedicated to animal rights that is as high profile as PETA, we are stuck with it.

I hate the body shaming of some PETA campaigns they've day shamed in the past and now they're size shaming. I used to support PETA but no longer do and have t in a while.
