I think it comes with being famous for a longer time. You really can't give 24/7 to the fans-it's exhausting and a private life is more and more important as fame gets old.

Yes I thought the ARTPOP era was lazy. I don't know I think she's got into that phase that a lot of artist go through from promoting being out there like hell too aye... I'll release something here and there do some projects. Put out some music if it do well eh... do something here and there. She has her millions and does not need anymore money. I hope this isn't true. She's been pretty darn lazy. Let's not forget American Horror Story. Yes, she has changed compared to how she use to be it's somewhatlazyga. Everyone changes and she can't always go balls to the wall, but I mean c'mon. I am ready for a new era even though I hope it's nothing like ARTPOP era promotion wise.

ARTPOP era had its own failures, but it was nothing like lazy promotion. She's done literally tons of promotion, here and there. Some people seem to not acknowledge that at all.

edit:

And it's not like The Fame Monster was that largely promoted. She was more succesfull back then and nobody even cared about promotion just because of that particular reason.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Think about back when she released ‘Just Dance’. Think about the person you were back then. Have you changed since then? We all change, you can’t expect her to remain the same throughout time (especially since she has been evolving from day one). The accusations that because ARTPOP didn’t sell as many albums as her first record is just nonsense. It debuted at number one. It wasn’t that it sold badly. It just didn’t sell 20 million – IF THAT WEIGHT OF EXPECTATION WAS ON YOU YOU’D CRUMBLE. She didn’t. She did not blame her fans in the slightest. Considering the hackers who leaked her singles, Troy Carter ditching her for money when she needed him the most, her hip breaking, depression, alcohol and drug reliance and acknowledgement of her sexual abuse, I think it’s pretty damn amazing that she strove to go to space, build Volantis and STILL manage to go on a global sold out tour.

So what if she says “put your f*cking hands up” instead of “put your paws up”, or calls us “fans” instead of “monsters”. She still acknowledges us on a daily basis; wakes up every morning with a great sense of gratitude, always feeling “grateful” and “blessed.”

We’re talking about one woman who is doing the job of twenty men on an almost daily basis. She gives us her time, her music and her positive messages and inspiration.  She was on Ellen during the ARTPOP era, acknowledged a fan in the audience and said to her “I just love you so much.” She said, “thanks for taking me back… I can’t believe you still like me, thanks.” She has cried at shows and at the artRave she said when ‘Just Dance’ was released, it was “the birth of one of the most authentic fan bases in the f*cking universe.”

If you guys really think that she doesn’t care, frankly, you’re being idiotic. She cares. Deeply. She will be back on tour with us during LG5. If you were really her fan, if you really loved her, let her have time to have fun and live life in a house she finally bought, with a fiancé who genuinely loves and cares for her.

I understand what it’s like. We’re obsessed with her and waiting on LG5 burns bad. But just wait it out. It will be here, she has said so herself! Please stop whining. Please be grateful. This woman nearly quit music because she was having such a hard time, don’t drive her away. Let her be happy and creative. She has went from that to singing with Tony Bennett, performing an operatic medley at the Oscars, and through Sting and Stevie Wonder and Sinatra tributes she has got standing ovations each time; an old fashioned ideal that is foreign to most pop star’s audience now. She just recently made an entire crowd of actors and actresses cry and stand up for her performance of TIHTY. Be supportive in the spirit of a TRUE monster. If you don’t be, how the hell do you expect her to even recognise you as one?

Oh, and if you think ARTPOP failed, you don’t think for yourself, you let the sensationalist and horrible headlines think for you. It is a fabulous album which I listen to in the shower every day.

If you don't have shadows you're not standing in the light.

I personally don't but it's definitely Gaga's fault some feel this way. she shouldn't have braaagged about the love of her fans the way she did only to suddenly stop doing it whatsoever.

Yes. It's her fault. She's only monster-exclusive.

Everyone's entitled to express their opinion, but how dare you call her lazy??!!  She is NOT lazy and NEVER has been.  After the bad press she received during the ARTPOP era, as a result of the management issues she had, it was natural for her to take a break from music so she could find her center.

In 2014, she did 7 shows at Roseland, went on a worldwide tour with the artRAVE, began heavy promotion for her jazz album with Tony Bennett, released her jazz album with Tony, did an H&M Christmas commercial/campaign and recorded Winter Wonderland with Tony.

In 2015, she began working with RedOne on her new album, posted on Twitter a few times that she was writing music, she paid tribute to Stevie Wonder, performed at the Grammys, stole the show at the Oscars with her stellar performance that received rave reviews from every single critic possible, co-wrote TIHTY with Diane Warren did the Polar Plunge for charity, did soul spinning, or whatever it's called, for charity in Chicago, went on tour with Tony to promote C2C, began filming for AHS: Hotel, went to the AHS premier and did a few interviews just before the show's season began, did a Christmas commercial with Tony Bennett for Barnes & Nobel and was named Billboard's woman of the year and performed at the award show.

In 2016, she began to post on Instagram and Twitter that she's working with Mark Ronson on new music for LG5, performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, honored the late David Bowie by doing a special tribute for him at the Grammys, performed another stellar performance of TIHTY at the Oscars and continues to write music.

With everything I've stated above, how dare you call her lazy???!!!!

I'm comparing her lazy only to how she use to promote and be out there. I am aware of everything you said. She used to be more out there and now she's not.

I thought the promotion was lazy. I think she could have done more, but it did not happen I moved on. After we got a random video, when When Do What U Want video was long overdue. I moved on and was well assured the era was coming close to an end, which it did. There definitely could have been more done. Did not happen, not going to happen. Cheers to the next era. I hope we get BTW/Taylor Swift type promotion.

Well of course she's not out there right now, she's between album cycles and still working on cleaning up her image from the backlash and criticism she received during the ARTPOP era.  She's keeping everything about this album under wraps and I applaud her for it.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

The only thing I really noticed is she takes to calling us fans more than monsters these days

I gotta figure that she knows most of her fans are growing with her. The people who seriously stanned for her in '08 are off to college, starting careers, building families, etc, and she's treating us more like adults and moving away from the "troubled teen with identity issues" theme and more into the real life lessons.

It's sad to see the classic "Mother Monster" persona go, but I think we'll like the new Gaga just as much and come to adore her views on life  after all, those insecurities and fears that inspired so many of her songs and so much of her image are a thing of the past now. She even says she's moved past one of the most traumatic experiences of her life. She's growing and we should too

She didn't stop loving us :laughga:

It's not her fault if Monsters need her to constantly prove something to them. She's shown time and time again that she cares about each and every one of us so if people still can't see that, it's their hang up, not hers.

didn't say that.

it's just that you simply can't go from talking about it 24/7 to pretending you never need to. it's only natural things won't feel the same... and it's weird more than anything else.

I did not see any backlash and criticism with ARTPOP. I understand I've been fan of other artist before this... I believe the promo will die down more and more with each album. I hope I am wrong. I hope I'm wrong.

Oh my god. This thread is messsssy.

Just imagine having paparazzi surround you, having to attend to meetings/interviews/performances, writing music, creating art, collaborating with top musicians, meeting fans on the street daily, going through your twitter/instagram/facebook feed and seeing articles, comments, and etc. about YOU by people you don't even know trying to act like music critics when they are just 17 year olds that listen to pop girls and think they know everything about everything.

Just imagine a life where EVERYONE knew what you were doing. Fans constantly bugging you about your next album and not appreciating what has already been put out.

Let her have some privacy. She just posted an instagram a month or two ago about how she could not wait to release her new material and hit the road to sing for us.

What else do you need?
