talking to her fans = promo for album

when the album is ready she'll probably be more active.

fans just ask her constantly about her new album, give her time

Gaga listens to her inner muse and it has gotten her this far. I think the changes in how she interacts with fans, how she expresses art, and how frequent she performs is her adapting to changes beyond her control. She was even willing to perform with pain at one point (something most artists never do). Yet her body and sanity had their limits.

She has, however, managed to work with parameters that allow her to be healthy, happy, and the time she craves to perfect her work. I'm glad she takes care of herself and acts professional in the process. Look how much praise and awards she continues to get even without a new pop record. There is more value in her talent and the healthy mind it comes from than the commodity she could produce for the masses.

I think an interesting aspect of this is that her current career "rebound" and the respect she has generated among the world at large these days has been done in a way that is completely opposite of the career plan that fans would have drawn up.

I trust Gaga's instincts and her knowledge of her own talent and state of mind far more than pop fans.

The OP is just a symptom of how needy this fanbase has become.  If people really were inspired by Gaga, they would use her encouragement to produce their own art and find their own lives, rather than relying on the attention of a pop star to bolster their own self image.

@Sinsemilla

Totally agree with you. Only I feel Grand dame Gaga and SuperwomanGaga are really very similar. Especially when she's on stage, she has the badass attitude like she's on top of the world. Before 2011 it was much harder to connect with her than now.

@Kayla

Sad to hear the lack of involvement from fans here when it comes to contributing to the GGD gifts. I do wanna say that a lot of my friends who are very creative and huge fans, don't really spent time on forums or Twitter to talk about her. There's a huuuge amount of fans out there that you never hear about but who are always there to support Gaga and have for years.

@Shadow

Great posts.

All this reminds me of what happened during the C2C tour. I went to 4 shows in different countries and everywhere there were young fans that hadn't seen her live before. And all they did was scream...scream...wave their stuffed animals and other gifts at her face and scream some more. It was funny for a minute, but it turned out to be very annoying and disrespectful to everyone on the stage and everyone there to enjoy the music. One night Gaga stopped singing, told the kids to shut up and started over. I mean, come on?

A lot of new fans grew up with social media and see how accessible she is and I guess take it for granted? Like all they care about is getting a picture, and not ask her how she's doing. They dont just want to see her perform, they want her to take them backstage, onstage, post for a pic.

One artrave she walked towards me and practically everyone around me turned their backs to her. To take a selfie. Guess I'm old fashioned but I rather look her in the eye and have a true connection for a moment.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

she is almost 30 years old and you want her to be like "luv you little monsters. Ur mama monster is very proud of u bbys #pawsup". She doesn't have to talk about her fans all the time to still appreciate them

Thanks. I think some fans are too focused on Gaga. There is so much going on in the world and there are so many possibilities to expand oneself, that it's shocking how many fans restrict themselves and their existence to Gaga, any other superstar or pop music in general ( it makes sick )

Also i do not believe that mass and loudness say something about the true quality of the emotions.

She doesn't have anything to sell us at the moment, why would she acknowledge us?

LOL kidding

I think (hope) she's busy with LG5 honestly and doesn't have time to sit around and read fans tweets and interact with us. It's okay as long as LG5 delivers (and it WILL)

The fans changed.

At the beginning they'd wait for her and then tell her how much they love her and they'd all stand around talking about how music can change peoples lives and create connections. They used to send their love over Twitter and instagram and cry and hug her in person.

Now they complain about her, talk about how bad she looks, talk about how they don't like her music any more, say that (insert era) was better, complain that she's changed, isn't as good any more as she used to be. On LM.com, social media, and here, some of the most common topics are hate towards other artists, arguments between members, complaints about Gaga herself, and other miscellaneous bullshitery.

When they see her in the street, instead of hugs and kisses, they scream "YASSSS" in her face like she isn't a human being. They shove cell phones in her face and order her around just like the paparazzi.

In short: despite her best efforts to preach about tolerance, acceptance, love, kindness and compassion, her fans have turned on her.

Put yourself in her shoes for a moment and imagine if people treated you this way. The same people who used to show you love.

I'd leave too. I'd leave for good. I'm glad that she has still stuck around, and I hope you don't all scare her off forever.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

PRIME EXAMPLE OF HOW HER FANS USED TO BE:

None of this is her fault. Her distance is the fault of any of you fans who have ever treated her badly in person or online.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

So many good opinions here. I'm really sad to learn that the fanbase changed so much. I came with ARTPOP. And I've always defended the ARTPOP stans since a lot of members have given us a hard time during early integration into the forum. I always think of it as the time Gaga needed our helping hand, just like she gave hers to us during BTW. I'm used to it now but at first I've been baffled by the amount of hate Gaga received (and still does) from her own Monsters, especially for the mishaps of Born this way and ARTPOP. :( Anyway, I'm not gonna make the post about us.

I don't know if I can have any contribution cause everything was said basically. But I think this alienation/cooling off between her and us is actually better for her. You can drag me, but I think the previous relation she shared wasn't necessarily toxic but was signaling that there were toxic stuff around her elsewhere. It is so obvious with ARTPOP. She had some good ideas but nothing came to fruition as she intended. She wasn't able to pull it like she did during BTW cause it was already too much for her to handle. She had that kind of thinking "I need to be strong for them. I must encourage and inspire them, no matter what I'm going through and how hard it is for me". Hell, who else broke a f*cking hip just because of their devotion to the fans? Tell me!? Justin Bieber got a cold and sore throat and was so fast to cancel his tour dates.

But ultimately, she had to grow up and face the challenges. Instead of bashing ARTPOP be grateful for it. It was a bad time for all but the outcomes are good now. She earned a level of independence she couldn't afford before and got recognition in all spheres. Just compare her during her peak 2009-2011, then look at her fall 2012-2014, and now 2015-16. From the daring eccentring pop star/celebrity with the most bizarre fashion choices she became recognised singer/song-writer, contemporary icon, young artist, magazine editor, jazz singer, actress, and the default go-to musician for tributes and important performances like SB and Oscars.

I hope you get my point - this "what happened to Gaga" is good for her, and better for us. She's distanced herself, worked out personal issues, spend time with friends and family, found THE person, THE love next to her. And all this will come back to us, don't worry. Those who stayed are in for a great prize, imo. She's become a better person for herself so that she can be right next to us, be this strong human being that never ceases to inspire us. She had to help herself, so that she can be able to help us again. We just need to wait a little bit more. But I'm confident good things are coming! :flutter:

@Marjol your posts are so true, I just can't phrase it any better!!! :giveup:

Yes I thought the ARTPOP era was lazy. I don't know I think she's got into that phase that a lot of artist go through from promoting being out there like hell too aye... I'll release something here and there do some projects. Put out some music if it do well eh... do something here and there. She has her millions and does not need anymore money. I hope this isn't true. She's been pretty darn lazy. Let's not forget American Horror Story. Yes, she has changed compared to how she use to be it's somewhatlazyga. Everyone changes and she can't always go balls to the wall, but I mean c'mon. I am ready for a new era even though I hope it's nothing like ARTPOP era promotion wise.

I agree.  I'm surprised she is doing LG5 considering all the negativity she takes from her fans.  I keep expecting her to retire or go some other direction such as a movie actress or a Broadway singer.  If she leaves pop, fans will have only themselves to blame.  I just want her to do what makes her happy.  So I hope fans consider this;  Gaga wasn't built for rudeness and negativity.  It's not part of her nature.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Everyone's entitled to express their opinion, but how dare you call her lazy??!!  She is NOT lazy and NEVER has been.  After the bad press she received during the ARTPOP era, as a result of the management issues she had, it was natural for her to take a break from music so she could find her center.

In 2014, she did 7 shows at Roseland, went on a worldwide tour with the artRAVE, began heavy promotion for her jazz album with Tony Bennett, released her jazz album with Tony, did an H&M Christmas commercial/campaign and recorded Winter Wonderland with Tony.

In 2015, she began working with RedOne on her new album, posted on Twitter a few times that she was writing music, she paid tribute to Stevie Wonder, performed at the Grammys, stole the show at the Oscars with her stellar performance that received rave reviews from every single critic possible, co-wrote TIHTY with Diane Warren did the Polar Plunge for charity, did soul spinning, or whatever it's called, for charity in Chicago, went on tour with Tony to promote C2C, began filming for AHS: Hotel, went to the AHS premier and did a few interviews just before the show's season began, did a Christmas commercial with Tony Bennett for Barnes & Nobel and was named Billboard's woman of the year and performed at the award show.

In 2016, she began to post on Instagram and Twitter that she's working with Mark Ronson on new music for LG5, performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, honored the late David Bowie by doing a special tribute for him at the Grammys, performed another stellar performance of TIHTY at the Oscars and continues to write music.

With everything I've stated above, how dare you call her lazy???!!!!

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
