The rights listed in the constitution do not extend to non-citizens. We can ban whomever we chose. And Trump has said multiple times that this ban wouldn't and couldn't apply to US citizens. I'm totally 110% OK with that. I rather law enforcement be able to profile people than have more skyscrapers come falling down. We cannot sacrifice our national security to be politically correct. I honestly I don't buy the "this is what ISIS wants" argument for a second. What ISIS want's is open borders so they can get into western countries, and that's exactly what Merkel and Obama want to give them. I genuinely think all you Europeans will have a different attitude once ISIS shows up at your door and you have to deal with the reality we went through on September 11th, 2001. How exactly would they profile these people though? You can easily lie about your religion. I think they would just have to ban ALL visas from ALL Middle East and Southwest Asians nations. The issue is that he's saying "Ban all Muslims from entering" (except US citizens). But how do you identify a Muslim? What about US citizens who go get radicalized in these regions and come back? What you see on TV are the 1% extremist radicals who unfortunately have power because the US gave guns, ammunition etc. to such groups in the 1980's. The average everyday Muslim out there who lives in the Middle East hardly thinks of the west and the United States as evil and destructive. Furthermore alienating global Muslims from entering a country that many want to come feeds terrorism. Feelings of alienation, hate, and loneliness has already been established as the main cause of how these terrorists get to be extremists. I can't believe that people in this country actually believe that prohibiting a group of people from entering the US is going to fix a global issue.
