"The war on drugs" has always had some nasty alternative motives, it's about time people who are/were involved start owning up to it.

The thing is, this doesnt surprise me, but it is a big deal because, back in high school, I was talking to one of my teachers that the government tends to admit their wrong doings 50 or more years later after the incident. They mostly do this so that the lives that were involved during these terrible things are old and pretty much cant complain because time has gone by and there is not much those lives can do. It is a big deal because, even tho the lives that were involved during this mess are now old or dead, the same ethnicity keeps getting turmoiled. It may not be the same lives, but it is a new generation of the same ethnicity.

But can they get reparation? I think it's a shame the debate about reparation is automatically shut down because honestly there is a lot of work to be done.

But the hippies were associated with marijuana and all kinds of drugs. They weren't lying about that. The hippie culture broke up due to a multitude of reasons, which had nothing to do with the war on drugs. 

Not really sure what this guy is referring to really, concerning that particular culture during that time.
