Is Gaga becoming too much of a downer?

In a recent radio interview she said she's really happy and I believe it and can feel it, we all have ups and downs in life and Gaga is no different, I know she has some sad things but many people who work with her call her fearless and strong, she's an emotional person but she is a really strong powerful woman and that's what btw is about, even if sometimes she doesn't feel it. Gaga knows who she is and what she wants from life, to me she's always been a strong person

The problem is you for some reason believe she isn't being genuine, which she is. I love when she talks about her hardships, it makes her MORE relatable to me. Every human being goes through hardships. The point is that she keeps moving forward, she keeps persevering. That's fearless to me.

@SharGaga And let me remind you she wasn't emotionless in 2011 either...

I remember watching this for the first time and felt really sad but how much she gives to her fans, trying to be strong for us even when she doesn't feel it

I don't think she will just "go back" to how she used to be, because she has experienced so much heartbreak and depression since the early days in her career. I would rather she were honest with us, rather than a caricature superwoman.

With that said, it just wouldn't make sense to talk about the past when she's transitioning to the next phase of her career. We don't need to hear about all that ARTPOP drama. It was three years ago. She should put her pain in her music and let it speak for itself.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

Yeah, I get you. I don't think it's so much about that fact she's talking about issues she's had but she can come across quite defeated when she's talking sometimes, especially in 2013 and 2014. I think she's gotten better at talking about problems now though... I have some hope that she'll return to that strength you could see at the Monster Ball.

I think she has been through alot and the defeatist attitude can sometimes get the better of you, but I am certain she will come out fighting next era.

Let's also take a step back for a second and just remember: She is one of the biggest celebrities on the planet. Millions of people watch her every move. She has an entire empire to run. The pressure of this must be insurmountable. It is natural that she will have emotions and hardships that are hard for us to understand. Some people are saying it's hard to get it when she has the seeming "perfect life" - success, awards, money, boyfriend, family, fans. But she even said in an interview, I think it was the NYT one for TIHTY, that we don't know what it's like to go home with a Grammy award and still hate yourself when you look in the mirror. Mental health goes much deeper than outside environments.

For this reason, I commend Gaga for talking about her issues and putting her pain into her art. The visibility of her pain and struggles can help fans understand her and her understand herself.

Ugh this thread is so disgusting. Gaga has chronic depression. She will be sad sometimes. That's life. Grow the **** up.

Agreed. That really bothered me too. I just didn't understand the logic behind it. When I cry, I don't record it and put it on social media. It was too much, and I definitely think its apart of her victim complex.

@LDR @Metamorphosis y'all are nobody to tell people how to deal with their hardships. Nobody. The fact y'all mistake being open and real about life tragedies while your side faves stay fake as hell, for acting a victim is disgusting. Use your brains for once, thanks.

Then there was the Bowie tribute where she filmed herself crying getting her make up on and posted it online (who does that?).

She was mourning her hero ffs

As for you @SharGaga, idk what delusions you have and/or live in, but life is not all rainbows and sunshine. It annoys me when people like you act like you are forced to spectate her life. Leave the fanbase if you can't take a little dose of reality, and grow up like Gaga is right now.

She should've used her brain and not post her crying to Snapchat. So unnecessary, just like your response.

cause she can and wants to? at the beginning you all were "why isn´t she talking about bowies death, he was her idol, she should post something" and when she does "she is overdramatizing, why is shy crying bla bla bla"....

Gaga has always been open about her struggles in the past and shared her stories to help others. However, it's starting to get me depressed. During the ARTPOP and C2C era she openly discussed her breakdown in 2012 and 2013. She revealed she was addicted to marijuana, got betrayed by people in the music industry, was depressed, had chronic pain, isolated herself, has eating disorders, was in a wheelchair for six months. Recently she was brave enough to come forward about being sexually assaulted at 19. Then there was the Bowie tribute where she filmed herself crying getting her make up on and posted it online (who does that?). Then there was the V magazine behind the scenes video where she explained she's in pain all the time. Then there was the Oscars when she said she never thought anyone would love her body anymore. These are just a few of many many things she said in the past 3 years.  My problem with all of this that she keeps talking about it. I really want her to move on from what happened in 2012/2013 but recently she mentioned again how 2013 was one of the hardest years of her life. I became a fan of Gaga 2011, a fearless woman who taught me how to be fearless. She seems to be in such a good place right now yet she'd rather talk about all the things that went wrong in her life, rather than the good. I can't relate to her anymore without getting depressed myself.

You are wrong

If she talks about it now more often then its because she has overcome the pain

Talking about being fearless???

How about her dragging one of the biggest music company putting her own career at risk??

You know Sony can influence the music biz and her career can go down hill. YES SONY CAN DO THAT

Id rather hear her talk about her pain than her talking proud of her accomplishments

cause thats really not her

mess at you saying she is focusing on the wrong things and sound defeated. you just dont "move one" from depression, you cant wake up one day and "cure yourself". it will forever be part of you and you cant help but feel down sometimes, specially when things remind you about your struggles. let her talk and feel sad about it. id rather her talk and say what she feels so we can help and give support, rather than put on a fake smile and hide her feelings that will eventually kill her just to please fans that "are feeling depressed because she is".....:grr:

Duh, yes you can. Just do drugs.
