SharGaga 2,906
Gaga has always been open about her struggles in the past and shared her stories to help others. However, it's starting to get me depressed. During the ARTPOP and C2C era she openly discussed her breakdown in 2012 and 2013. She revealed she was addicted to marijuana, got betrayed by people in the music industry, was depressed, had chronic pain, isolated herself, has eating disorders, was in a wheelchair for six months. Recently she was brave enough to come forward about being sexually assaulted at 19. Then there was the Bowie tribute where she filmed herself crying getting her make up on and posted it online (who does that?). Then there was the V magazine behind the scenes video where she explained she's in pain all the time. Then there was the Oscars when she said she never thought anyone would love her body anymore. These are just a few of many many things she said in the past 3 years. My problem with all of this that she keeps talking about it. I really want her to move on from what happened in 2012/2013 but recently she mentioned again how 2013 was one of the hardest years of her life. I became a fan of Gaga 2011, a fearless woman who taught me how to be fearless. She seems to be in such a good place right now yet she'd rather talk about all the things that went wrong in her life, rather than the good. I can't relate to her anymore without getting depressed myself.
Lucas 27,156
I totally feel like you about her. She's focusing about all the wrong things when it looks like she's in such a good place, personal life (resting at home, Taylor...)& career speaking (praise after performances). I hope in the next era she will be the fearless girl again I fell it love with during The Fame Monster & Born This Way eras. After all the times she said it, she should know that she has to move forward and be strong.

Benji 20,113
Yeah, I get you. I don't think it's so much about that fact she's talking about issues she's had but she can come across quite defeated when she's talking sometimes, especially in 2013 and 2014. I think she's gotten better at talking about problems now though... I have some hope that she'll return to that strength you could see at the Monster Ball. Logan 20,740
You don't just "move on" from emotional scarring. She's been through a lot in this industry, and a lot of the time her fans were to blame for pushing her too hard. The fact that she's a survivor and is putting that emotion on the table and using it to drive her passion for music is a beautiful thing to me. I think it's incredibly disrespectful to act like you're the victim because your favorite pop star is honest with her feelings.
Haroon 49,685
I think it's more to give people hope that they can get through their hard times, rather than dwelling and sulking I get what you mean about her looking impenetrable and fearless in previous years but she's kinda reached a point where being real and honest about her hardships has just as much (if not more) of an impact in its own way

LadOfAbyss 597
I would just say that she's matured so much and is really focused on reaching out to people-especially with till it happens to you. She mentioned in an interview that she wants to make a world a better place. So she in a way she's just been trying to send the message that she's not just a pop star, you know, that she also has had to face hardships. She has been using her rise of popularity to become a relatable person. So I wouldn't necessarily say downer, I would just say she has become very real about issues that she's sees as important. I am as vain as I allow
Knife 6,888
The Gaga cycle: Insert-trauma-here almost destroyed me → Insert-savior-here healed me and I can finally be myself x infinity.
Whispering 18,865
If, for some strange reason, a pop star's life and words are depressing you...you owe it to yourself to focus on something else. Gaga is responsible for her choices and actions and you are responsible for your choices. Make another choice!
Shipper 13,078
Well Gaga is human so she is vulnerable at times. It is hard to pretend you are strong when you are actually not. It just makes it so much more harder to seek help when people think you don't need any. I think she is brave to admit that she needs help and have experienced hard times. It makes her more human and relatable and less like a plastic popstar. As a fan, we all have certain aspects of her that we love. Maybe losing this confidence and fearless attitude is a turn off for some but it just makes me happy that she is being more honest with herself. This will reflect in her music hopefully and we get something more of her. 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶
