It's a music forum. We can discuss any and all artists, whether we like them or not. We have just as much right to get out our frustrations as we do our loves.

Forgive me for wondering why her black fans would stan for someone who's said such nasty things about blacks. I'm offended for blacks judging by the things she said. If I were black, I would be 100% done with her, if I wasn't already. I'm just wondering why blacks are so accepting of racist things said by their own race. I don't care what your race is, no one has the right to be a racist and it's never justified or ok if it's about your own race.

Well, in this case, her black fans are all thinking one way because they're choosing to remain fans of her, therefore, they've all agreed that her racism doesn't bother them. I don't think a whole race thinks one way but a small number of them within a fandom sure might. At most, Iggy was maybe a bit ignorant in the past and spoke before thinking, which isn't the same thing as racism. If you really knew me, you'd know that I'd never praise or defend a racist. I've been trying to enlighten my racially ignorant father for years and finally getting somewhere, but if I wasn't related to him, it would be another story. I don't make friends with or support anyone who's a racist. That's the biggest reason why I have no time for Azealia. I don't care for racists.

No, it's because Azealia has offended everything with a pulse. There's barely any group she hasn't said something offensive about. If it hasn't happened to you, it'll happen eventually. It's like she's on a mission to get a full house. No, I don't stop myself from doing anything that might offend (that bit came out of nowhere and wasn't connected to the situation), I just don't support nasty people. Surely when someone's really horrible to everyone, it makes you not want to be around them? I don't like to see people get made fun of, so I don't think anyone who does this deserves fame and success. As someone who was bullied, I don't like to see bullies glorified.

Well your not black and your not an AB fan so stay in your place as an outsider looking in.  And for you to say that a whole race of people think one away is racist no matter how you want to spin it . What is the point of saying the same thing in every Azealia thread? You've made the decision she's not for you a long time ago. Do you see me going into every Iggy thread to remind y'all I think she's a terrible musician? I'm a young, white, homosexual, she's cracked loads of jokes that apply to me but like you've just said, she does this to everyone so why are you offended for other people like her black fans? It's not like she's gunning for just one person... she hate's everyone! It's practically equality.

Most of what she says is pretty normal in rap (AB is actually less violent than a lot of rappers) and I have heard far more offensive things coming out of other's mouths, even at comedy shows. I mean, I get it, you're delicate but we don't all have to feel obliged to eat korma because the other curries are too hot for you.

Who has Iggy really spoken out against? Who has she dissed directly (or even indirectly)? From what I can tell, that's a part of rap Iggy doesn't get involved with. 

And on that note- why should someone have to just expect that kind of treatment simply because of the genre they're in? If someone doesn't want to partake in the supposedly inherent 'battle' aspect of rap, then they shouldn't have to. Iggy has made it clear to Azealia that she's done going back and forth with this beef. 

That being said, I don't respect Iggy as a "rapper" - there are so many more valuable artists that should be recognized for their work and I don't think Iggy even has a proper understanding of the genre's history enough. Additionally, her "apology" for the slave master line was so fake it's ridiculous. She should have owned up and just said "I said a lyric that I now regret- I was being ignorant at the time when I referred to myself as a slave master, and I am sorry for using such a serious topic as a joke in my music," but she instead chose to make up some fake explanation. And even IF her explanation is the god-honest-truth, fact is that it was poorly written because the idea did not translate well at all.
