So did Aboriginal Australians, but they descended from another branch. That doesn't mean that they are Asian. It just means that they are descended from people who at some stage in their history, lived in Asia (70% of the worlds population has lived in Asia so that's not hard to fathom). You're right about them being part of the Mongoloid race but there are studies that have shown that their skulls were very similar to a few tribes in South Africa which leds to people believing they were biracial and those tribes in Africa also have red skin but mongoloid eyes as well. Thats why ancestry.com and other geneology studies have changed Native American to their own race whereas before it was just "mongoloid". They are relics of a time where Europeans attempted to "prove" scientifically that they were superior. First they needed to define who "they" were.
