Its like hiring a painter, and you tell him that you want the color red, and he gets mad because he hates that color.. Lmao literally. He should've just been happy that he got such a big job at all. Sources, cant guarantee they're trustable: http://pagesix.com/2013/11/25/lady-gagas-ARTPOP-led-to-rift-with-manager/ http://nypost.com/2013/12/14/what-happened-to-lady-gaga/ The story does say interscope denied it though. Yeah Interscope rejected the original ARTPOP. Remember she tweeted that she finished her record and played it for them? Then its like she started all over again, and totally acted like that never happened. It's science, bitch

Like we know she's not the one who decides at the end... It's Interscope. If they don't like they won't release.. And my point was that if she wants special producers it's for their skills and what they usually do... I mean you don't ask RedOne or Giorgio Moroder to make a rap album... It's kinda stupid to make a producer do what another could have done too.. What he was denouncing is the fact he had no word in the process... I don't think he was only targetting Gaga but the whole industry (managers and labels)

At the end of the day the artist calls the shots. If you feel that you can't do the job, then ask to not be apart of the project any longer. Don't get mad at the artist. I don't think he was only targetting Gaga but the whole industry (managers and labels) Whether it's about Gaga or Interscope, it doesn't matter. It's got nothing to do with 'his vision' which was his entire point. And his work is still featured in some capacity on both albums so it's not like everything he did was rejected, which would've been a much worse case scenario for him. Comparing it to Giorgio Moroder producing rap is a bit silly. Gaga will have said no to ideas by RedOne too, no doubt. Listen to his work with her in comparison to other artists. She'll get the sound she wants out of the producers and obviously what he is so upset about wasn't what Gaga was looking for. If he doesn't like it, as I said, he can go work for someone more basic. Emvee 8,350
What a compliment Gaga actually has her own vision.
yxi 4,999
Its weird because we know she used recycled productions from Zedd and Madeon, the instrumentals are the same as the demos.
Whispering 18,865
So...Gaga had an artistic vision and had a say in the music she put out. That's what an artist is supposed to do! If he wants to spoon feed a singer and have them take everything as is, he needs to work with another "artist", the kind that have songwriting camps and add three words to get credit on those songs. "We hear executives at Gaga’s label Interscope had concerns over her third album “not having any big “hits” on it.” They asked Gaga to go back to the studio and rework a few tracks. Execs at Interscope suggested she could release “ARTPOP” as an EP, to complement an album of more radio-friendly hits. But she refused. We’re told Interscope asked Carter to try to get through to the defiant singer, but Gaga refused “to adulterate her art,” one source said." sooooo where is the info about interscope rejecting "original ARTPOP"
Neight Shayde 7,925
i'll take that as a compliment. girl knows what to do and she has the right to change things because she's an ARTIST, not just a singer who takes orders from producers who want to make her a "star" and create his/her sole vision for the artist. If you wanted your own vision then do your own album/single so you can slap your name on the song.
TrueWillis 45
I don't see this as him saying anything bad about her. He's just talking about how it's difficult to work with a big star like that because you don't really have much control at all
monketsharona 80,333
honestly I don't think is all shady... He already said Gaga is very demanding in a very good way... Like he says he learnt a lot working with her...
hmm 979
You could always look at his words as a positive; that he obviously wants his work to be (in his view) the best it can be. He obviously should realise that her say is more important in the end but at least he isn't a willing yes-man.
Miel 15,009
More of a testament to how in control Gaga likes to be, which isn't a bad thing. I love how she's very open to collaboration, but I also love how much she wants to instill what she wants. 3 points in and ready for more

It's so... different, most likely. 3 points in and ready for more
