Stephen 30,431
Hasn't Marina always said she became a singer-songwriter to express herself? It's never been about fame or success for her. She probably feels like she doesn't have anything to say now. She's a true artist at heart, so I'm sure she'll continue making music eventually. This is disappointing, but not surprising. It debuted in the top 10 in the US whereas Electra Heart debuted at like 31. She's definitely gained more fame in the US since Electra Heart. They have. And I'm talking about worldwide, not just the US. Her sales in the UK went from 195k to 90k to a figure that is so low it wasn't even reported on Wiki. And Electra Heart sold 129k in the US and Froot has sold 75k so far and a whole year later, I doubt she'll sell much more. Worldwide, Froot has sold about 150k - that's only 21k more than what Electra Heart sold in the UK alone. It doesn't really matter where you chart these days as sales are so low and you can get an easy week. It's all about how many people bought it, not where it charted. Electra Heart may have charted lower in the US but it sold more, so its lower position means nothing. The Family Jewels was her UK peak, Electra Heart her US and international peak. Froot has sold less than both those albums. You could argue that yes, the US fanbase that she grew after Electra Heart has led to more fame there, but why would that translate into less people buying Froot? I was honestly a little underwhelmed by it. "I'm a Ruin" is still my song, tho. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand. Anderson123 38,594
They always say that. I remember reading on these forums that Lana Del Rey was quitting music, then she released Ultraviolence and then she later said that she was either taking a long break or really quitting music, then months later her other new album was released.
