If people thought she wasn't this talented when she was ruling the world than fine, but to speak out about it when she's "declining" is just low. It is indeed so, that many rock legends and fans of rock music I know, single out Gaga as the talent. I think she could be excellent in much more genres of music, not only in pop. But in all seriousness, I think it's so cool that so many legendary rock acts see Gaga as one of themselves. I agree, she would make such a killer rock'n'roll queen. She's got the talent, roots, and attitude, for sure. It's coming one day, I can feel it! Of course, she's still one of my fave pop artists and I certainly have no problem having her make more pop albums, but she can do it all so well, I'd love to see her take dips in other genres from time-to-time too. She's been doing pop for 8 years, rock would be a welcomed change, and the glam rock is where she got her start in New York with Lady Starlight in night clubs and Gaga has said a few times pop music and making commercial music is difficult for her, it's difficult for her to take her ideas and make them suitable for commercial release and it's hard how the label presses her to make the songs more commercial and mainstream. When Gaga does rock, it'll probably be more glam and Bowie/Queen-esque because that's who she is. It isn't a far cry from a lot of her stuff now. She runs her live shows like rock concerts more than anything else anyway. I think she's headed that direction and it could only be good things for her. I mean, Edge of Glory is stadium rock/pop and she's so at home there, same with You and I. Hell, MANiCURE as well. Or whenever she does her piano-accoustic versions of her songs. There's a distinct element of rock about her stuff so I don't honestly think it would be a far cry for her and I think she'll go there eventually. That's what she did on the Lower East Side with Starlight and she will eventually return to her roots whether people like it or not. I'm not saying that she'll quit pop music because I don't see that happening either, but she'll definitely dabble in glam/stadium rock in the future.
