There is no clear scientific explanation of why it should or shouldn t be legal. Marijuana as tobacco is addictive, but it depends on the person. I have smoked both and i can t tell you i didn like them or for example after smoking tobacco cigarette once in a week if i can remember for 1month or something i just stopped, as for the weed i have a friend who is smoking all day fully addicted non functional adult and yes gaga it is seems can also fall again in this phase. I believe if the next album fails she will be devastated and smoke pot everyday. To me she seems like she is that kind of person. And to me the whole drug thing is like tha whole lgbt rights thing. From liberal point every person is free to be whatever he wants and use his-her body the way he or she desires. If every state has this policy i think things would be better. Even today some doctors can tell you homosexuality is a mental illness or that **** sex is non natural harmful for your health act causing **** fistulas, rectal fluid leaking and sensitivity to stds. However, I don't see it as a positive or negative thing...it's just a fact. In the same way it's a fact that there are ppl who destroy their lives or health because of sex, food or alcohol, for example, and it doesn't make these things "bad". So many things are potentially addictive and we don't take a big stand against them all and marginalize their consumption, because they're not necessarily going to become a damaging vice for everyone...it's the same with pot, except it has not reached the social acceptability of junk food yet, for example (even though obesity related diseases are doing way more damage to ppl than pot - and it has nothing to do with the government crusading against drugs, bc the levels of consumption has been increasing for a while). Becoming an addict or not depends on a lot of stuff: the frequency it's consumed, on personal mental health, on genetic predisposition to addiction, etc., meaning it's unfair to condemn everyone who do pot, bc a group might have problems with that...the truth of the matter is that we're all doing potentially damaging stuff to ourselves and it's kind of hypocritical of us all, I feel, to deem some of them ok and some of them "evil"... you know? Out of tens of pot smokers I know, only two of them have real problems (and one of them is in treatment), the rest is just ppl, like you and I, who instead of a glass of whiskey prefer to take a puff... PS: and all of this comes from someone who does nothing, not even alcohol, not even red meat (hopefully no meat at all in the future)...
