Judas Oyster 1,915
I agree so much tbh I would understand if an artist had broken legs or a disease that makes you have to keep it really low-key but other than that... Or that they want to be very close to family and don't travel... But still I would rather see that artist travel every five years than having a full residency for so many years :P

darkchylde 14,857
It's kinda funny because I believe it's quite harder to profit and success at a vegas residence than a world tour. Pulling a world tour, you take the show to the people, but with a vegas residence you force fans to make the trip to the city and that's expensive as hell. But who cares, now that britney can dance again, madonna should get her coffin ready.

A Vegas residency doesn't mean less work or effort. Britney's show is a normal Britney's show and JLo'a is also a normal JLo's show. Actually the production is way better than in their world tours. The Vegas shows are aimed at people living the Vegas lifestyle for their visit, hence why it's "big" names performing. It's more about being in Vegas and seeing a show, than actually seeing that artist. It's part of the go big or go home idea, it's the glamour etc.

I get that - but what with the fans worldwide who can't afford a trip to USA to see their artist? What about the fans that helped making the artist a worldwide artist?
