Realistic hunter training in Sweden:

Welcome to an exciting and educational training shooting at ungulates and predators!

All shooters must go one by one for a total path with both stationary and moving targets.
Where we simulate the hunting of animals and uninjured tracking.

Just as during the hunt pits you as gunner for different situations such as stress, wrong, animals, high heart rate, etc.

All shots are evaluated individually by each shooter before it is time for the next shooter.
This is as close to real hunting as you can get.

Well personally I don't need to use guns, I don't find any interest in them, I am not a hunter so my only reason to train to shoot would be in the case there is a zombie apocalypse.

On a more practical and realistic level, I am aware some people like to shoot or hunt. I don't think it's everyone's job to carry a gun to protect themselves, actually the police in the UK usually don't carry guns if I recall correctly and that's the way it should be in an ideal world. that none of us needs a gun besides for hunting if you fancy doing that (that's another issue).

I come from a country where we have little gun violence in comparison to the US, yet people hunt and stuff. So I think what is different is the mindset. Sure crimes happens but the tools are different. I don't think removing guns will magically change American culture, but at the same time I don't see the point waiting for it to change by itself and in the meantime let people kill each other bec no one can check who is buying what.

It's like if someone is suicidal you may need to restrain them before they can start therapy? So why not limit gun use and of course educate people. Because honestly I can't at toddlers shooting each others because the parents left an gun accessible, this is beyond stupidity! Now some people need gun to protect themselves because they live in a dangerous neighborhood. I don't think gun are the cause of violence even though they make it worse but they are more like a symptoms of how ****ed up the situation is. Again if people had access to proper education (in general), safe and good living standard and such why would they need a gun, why would they be surrounded by crime? Poverty leads to crime so again there are bigger issues to fix if we want to fix the violence. Removing guns on its own is not going to help.

Saw this on Facebook today. (link in case it doesn't show up)

I feel like this is a step in the right direction. While I do agree that we need tougher and smarter laws when it comes to guns, especially in the States, education is always a good thing. It's kind of like the sex education debate. The places with the least amount of sex ed end up with the biggest amount of teen pregnancy, STDs, and abortions. I wouldn't mind if programs like this spread through the country

I live in Australia. I have never touched a gun or even heard a gunshot. Gun control in this country has worked. We haven't had a mass shooting since 1996. Crime has not stopped all together, but there hasn't been anything to the scale of Port Arthur since it happened, 20 years ago.

I get to walk the streets knowing and feeling that I am safe. To me, and this is no disrespect to anybody in the US - the fact that you can walk into a K-Mart and buy ammo is absolutely insane. I find it truly heartbreaking that innocent school children have been maliciously murdered in their classrooms. Every child should feel safe in their schools. I saw a previous comment in this thread saying 'it is the person holding the weapon', this is true to an extent, but why make it so easy for these people to have access to these weapons? There needs to be background checks, psychological analysis & extensive research before anyone can own a gun.

Everybody has the right to feel safe in their day to day existence.

You don't know what you're missing.

First, the United States is not violent and unsafe all over, much violence takes place in certain cities. Second, lack of guns does not mean you are safe. Third, there are multiple ways to "feel safe".

Well, you can't. Kmart doesn't sell ammo.

You must be thinking of Walmart. You have to buy ammo, it doesn't grow on trees. Walmart is a store, like most other things, you buy ammo in stores. Problem?

Owning a gun is a constitutional right. It's #2 on the Bill of Rights. Would you tolerate background checks and psychoanalysis before being allowed to speak freely or practice the religion of your choice?

Ugh your comment was on point until that last sentence. The government can decide if you are granted the right to bare arms, as the Supreme Court has upheld if that person poses a great risk of using that firearm for criminal purposes.

No, they don't "grant" you the right, every American adult has the right to keep and bear arms. They can take the right away in certain circumstances, but they don't give it (and there's opposition to that as well). Just like certain rights are taken away when one is confined to a jail or to a mental facility.

And how does that apply to the average law-abiding, sane American citizen? They don't need, or shouldn't need "permission" before they can exercise a constitutional right.

Fully automatic weapons are firearms too. So are rocket launchers and so are RPGs. Do we have the constitutional right to bare those arms? Why can't I have a freaking bazooka?

There are legitimate constraints on the 2nd amendment, and it is the right of government to make sure dangerous weapons don't fall into the wrong hands as well are allowing sane, law abiding citizens the right to protect themselves.

Thankful, the majority of the most qualified people on earth whose job it is to interpret the Constitution agree with me, and not you.

What does this have to do with anything I said? The answer to your question is right there in Heller.

There are constraints, and that doesn't include having to be psychoanalyzed before purchasing a gun.

Wrong. Gun nuts are laughing at that product. It looks clumsy, slow, relatively ineffective and just a bad idea in general.
