J.Lo is only more relevant now because she makes music catering to the young people who only listen to music at the dance clubs. Overall Mariah has a legacy and she doesn't need to be popular now or ever anymore because she already did her time and will be remembered forever. She will forever be one of the best vocalists out there. She's a songwriter and is involved heavily into the production and composition of her music since day 1. While J.Lo care about her razzie award friendly movies and good skin, us mariah fans have almost 3 decades of powerful musical moments of an extremely talented woman. Do you even know the root and source of this whole drama? The whole situation with Mariahs ex husband with Tommy Motola and how J.Lo worked with him while reusing Mariahs demos which led to the Glitter era and her public breakdown? After Mariah got divorced from Sony's CEO Tommy Mottola during her 6th Studio Album out of her 7Album Deal, he searched for a new sensation. A new Pop Star. During Mariah's last Album under Sony, he signed Jlo. He paid dust to Mariahs Album 'Rainbow' and focused all on Jlo's debut. He didn't allow Mariah's longtime producer and friend Walter A. (Hero, AIWFCIY etc.) to work with Mariah. If he still did, Walter would never get a production job on Sony. Instead, Walter needed to work with Jlo. About two years later, Glitter started happening. In the trailers, there was a Version of 'Loverboy' that featured a sample of 'Firecracker' (Loverboy was unreleased at that time). After Tommy heard from it, he bought sampling rights to 'Firecracker' even though it was made clear that Mariah sampled that Song. Shortly after that, Jlo released a Song called 'I'm Real' which features the Sample of 'Firecracker'. Mariah's then Label (Virgin) told her she needed to do 'Loverboy' with a different Sample. So she needed to reproduce the whole Song. When the Glitter Album came out, Tommy paid the critics a ton of money to bash the music. I was speculating why Mariah is still so mean.J Lo didn't do anything wrong, she took an opportunity to advance her career which had no direct negative impact on anybody else, and Mariah would've done the same thing.
