dannydevito 10,658
Kanye West CDs are apparently a thing of the past. The Chicago rapper/designer/entertaining tweeter took to his timeline on Monday (March 7) to discuss his stance on physical music releases. "I was thinking about not making CDs ever again... Only streaming," he said before referencing the cover art of his 2013 effort Yeezus. "The Yeezus album packaging was an open casket to CDs r.i.p." He continued, "uuuuuuum, so there it is... No more CDs from me," before launching into a reflective Twitter moment. http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/hip-hop/6898381/kanye-west-tweets-no-more-cds-life-of-pablo Oh my god he just signed his death sentence
DiscoHeaven23 35,007
He'll change his mind. Though i could really care less. Kanye West is an artist of the 00's in my opinion He's just been a guy in pop culture in the '10's
Harry 26,836
I can't help but feel like he's making a big mistake. Not only no CDs but he's not even making his album available to buy digitally, and only stream on Tidal... I think it's stupid in a commercial sense as people will just torrent his stuff from now on, but ultimately every artist has the right to distribute their music in whichever way they please, so no judgements. Hope he changes his mind though.

Dawson 9,486
I followed Kanye very closely for the first time during this T.L.O.P release, but his twitter is like a 12 year olds. He needs to simmer down and step away from twitter
RAMROD 109,386
I;ll let him bathe in his ego and mistakes for now. One day he will regret to ever be this person he is right now. His celebrity status may have taken on a new form in the past few years but that doesn't take away from him as an artist. Those paths don't cross. 1 minute ago, Dawson said: I followed Kanye very closely for the first time during this T.L.O.P release, but his twitter is like a 12 year olds. Schwerk 7,244
I see his point. I never buy cd's anymore only Gaga's and at shows of small bands or artists that don't have their work on iTunes. The packaging isn't that practical as well and I'd rip it anyway to take it on the go. At home I prefer vinyl. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

jsn 1,648
I kinda get it, but there's not really a reason not to release it in physical cd form unless the manufacturing is gonna cost more than you expect to make, and for someone famous like him that shouldn't be a problem lol

You can be critically acclaimed and still not be a successful artist in the mainstream sense of the term success. Just ask Ms. Banks. Kanye was much bigger in the 00's. I can't even remember the last time i heard his voice on the radio. I'm not trying to take away from his artistry, its just that he's not that big of a mainstream artist anymore
