TAlx 61
Hey guys, So I've graduated half a year ago from a college where I studied Cybernetics in Economics, and then went on doing research on my own, on matters related to cybernetics in nature and chaos theory. There's a couple of things that instantly clicked with me during these past weeks, watching Gaga's tweets and one of the short interviews she gave for a magazine a while ago (can't remember it, but the video of it was showing Gaga walking Asia round their home or something) and these are: - the catterpillar & now the storm emojis; - her reference to nature in that interview I told you above. Now, I'll give you some basic concepts of cybernetics and chaos theory, so you'll get where I'm trying to take you guys with this. First of all, cybernetics is not, at origins, related to robots or modern technology - but it does have strong potential to be applied in these fields. Cybernetics, in common terms, studies the connections in between elements of systems - be it a field of grass, be it the atmosphere, be it a table, be it the human body - they're all systems. A system is something that, among other things, has the ability to 1. adapt (to outside variables/effects) and 2. self-adjust. In other words, if the system is healthy, all its components contribute to the well-being of its structure and keep it alive. In shorter terms, everything in nature is perfectly connected to everything and everything contributes to the state of the rest (and I'm so sorry, there are A LOT of interesting stuff in cybernetics, with appliance in technology, psychology, economics, biology, everything, but I'm trying to take you elsewhere). Now bear with me. A branch of cybernetics is chaos theory - or the 'butterfly effect', which is a metaphorical way to refer to chaos theory - it talks about the potential of the simple flap of a butterfly's wings on this side of the planet to give birth to a storm on the opposite side of the planet. If it sounds like science-fiction (as it is, well, a metaphor), lemme explain it to you using economics: - let's take the amount of money a country produces per year, and let's say that in the end we get 1mil $: this number is the result of an equation in which we use as inputs stuff like number-of-workers, number-of-unemployed-people, productivity-rate, natural-resources, importation, exportation, whatever you can think of. Take note that every of this variables suffers multiplications and/or division during the calculus. Now, let's say we modify one of the input variables with +1% - the interesting part comes in the end, as that lousy +1% modification of one variable can actually lead to a modification of +30% in the final output - the $$$ that our country produces per year, now 1.3mil %, depending on the equation. Now, this is half of the chaos theory explained. Bear with me. If you asked cybernetics what is chaos, it would be something like this: a lot of decisions, that lead to an array of possibilities, out of which you can pick only one (as you cannot reverse time), that lead to other decisions, and that chain of collectively converging decisions (as in our ecosystems, we hit others' decisions as well) gets so tense that it explodes - that is a chaos point (that's why researchers try to study the Bing Bang - because that's our initial chaos point and we have no clue what happened before it). It's when everything just explodes and every input variable becomes zero and you start all over again, another chain of decisions. Life itself is a unique and continuosly growing chain of decisions that intersect with others' as well, along with chaos points and restarts. Also, chaos theory talks about destruction for the sake of creation. It's very intriguing as I sensed some sort of, maybe involuntary reference to this kind of stuff in Born This Way, especially in the Marry The Night video - you know, her going mad and destroying herself, only to start all over again. She did talk about going back to nature. She did say she's going back to her roots (or something similar - that cadaver reference). She did use the catterpillar - the only for that to go is the butterfly. She did talk about exploding in her 30s. She did post a tornado emoji. She is now coming close to that point where she'll make use of her most recent happy and productive decisions. She did rebuild herself out of the chaos she was during ARTPOP's end. I really have a feeling that this album is a bit tied to the Born This Way concept, but much more oriented to chaos theory. And she's smart enough to approach such a bidding concept. What do you think? I know it's a lot to read, but trust me, this discipline is -much- bigger and -much- more beautiful and eye-opening than what I could tell you and it's practically talking about life and how everything is, in detail, connected to everything. I guess this would be cool with it themed around chaos but at the same time I kinda want it to be quite simple and not too taxing on the brain so the GP love the era.I loved the born this way era but some of the GP found it a bit too different to enjoy. Well, if she manages to communicate it lightly and leave the hermetical stuff at reach for those who're interested in studying it, then it should be a success I get what you're saying, rly. I just think Gaga is trolling us since the start with her catterpillar and butterfly things and it has probably zero link with anything from LG5... And you can't expect her to put out an album without a (strong) concept behind it. It's Gaga we're talking about :))
Kulture Kiari 3,433
Wait. Wtf? I re-read everything and God dang! I need to go back to school. Whatever you are studying is making you come up with this really smart theory. Tbh, I rather have these type of theories that the usual ones I see daily. But congratz on this, even tho it seems to far off for Gaga. Not calling her dumb, but I dont think it is something she would venture in.
WORLDofGAGA 2,274
Good thoughts but I think we could be thinking too deep after Gaga saying that we think everything is cryptic, I mean yeah the catipilar emoji is unusual and could be a clue of transformation to a butterfly but I'm not so sure 😄 @W0RLDofGAGA
SamJ 8,008
I'm sure this album will have a lot of substance though I mean she quickly churned out the fame the fame monster and born this way and she has been working on this for nearly 2 and a half years so it has to be very well thought through. It won't be bland.
Fernster7 7,922
I don't even care if this is about LG5, I'm studying something really similar and I think it's just so interesting, everyone should check it out. Monsters never die.

If she managed to use mitosis in biology and theory on psychological trauma during BTW, I think she can manage this, -if- my geek guesses turn out to be somewhat true I'm not jumping on saying this is the only way she could go for, it just happened to click with me as I studied this and they seemed really close. KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
The worst thing of this whole situation is that she's accustomed us to find out anything from a single word or picture or whatever.
