Well, it still sells 1,000 copies a week even though it was released 7 years ago. I don't see any of her "fresher" stuff do the same. I just cant wait to hear loads of new gaga written songs. I think it sounds dated cuz the songs are geric af. The songs that aren't actually generic (for me they are Paparazzi, LoveGame, BDR) have aged like fine wine. Not saying I think it sounds dated (although I don't want her to revisit that sound) but that would have nothing to do with it still selling anyway. A lot of old songs linger in the lower regions of the iTunes chart because it's nostalgic for people when they remember the big hits of years gone past, so they buy them. It's not dated neither. Katy Perry songs are generic. A generic song wouldn't have impressive lyrics like Poker Face with double meaning and complex metaphors.
