Watching how the whole poll is going I wonder - are we paying dust to earlier material in general (like with most singers, not only Bey - I bet the same situation will be if we were to pick a Rihanna album.) or it's just artistic growth the reason older albums are less respected. 

My case is that I never cared to listen to B'day and DiL in full unlike I am, 4 and ST.  But Bey's biggest smashes come exactly from B'day so there's no denying it is a successful and a good album but it feels old, like from a previous epoch, the sound, the visuals, todo. 

@Metamorphosis sis, do you have any rumoured info about the release date? Will she make us wait until after the tour like ST or she will grace our lives this or next month in time for the tour?

You should listen to B'day. Its an amazing album, and it flows like a movie. Perfect workout album. To me it aged amazingly, and the Hive agrees. Its just sonically a great retro record, she even recorded it in 2 weeks.

DiL is super underated. it has so much soul, you should listen to it in full soon
