Those years were amazing for music. I basically rotated between Gwen/Fergie/Nelly exclusively during that time haha. Ahh I miss it.

till this very day I tend to listen to those 3 albums. :) Wish they would come back with similair quality material

James Gibson

Well, Gaga was really doing impact in 2009 but I'd put Beyoncé with her. I Am... Was really big. Also she could be 2014 with Taylor.

Rihanna kinda slayed in 2012 also with Katy. She was having the We Found Love, TTT followed by Unapologetic era. It was big

And Taylor should be considered with Adele in 2015 for sure. She dominated the whole year and was the only relevant pop act. Adele only appeared at the end

Babel

Mariah definitely dominated 2005. We belong together was #1 for 14 weeks and was named song of the 2000s decade. She even cockblocked herself at the top, Shake it off was #2 when WBT was #1.

Also The emmancipation of Mimi was named her BIG comeback after her breakdown years before. She won 3 Grammys and everything. The list of achievement goes on.

TEOM was also the best selling album of the year according to Nielson:hor:

in the US definitely, but worldwide.. I have doubts about Mimi being more successful / having more impact than Gwen in general

TEOM was the 2nd best selling album of the year WW

LAMB was #12

if you wanna talk about impact.........Mimi is the pioneer of RnB/Hip Hop

TEOM

its present estimated sales are around 16M according to IFPI

LAMB are around 7M

even if you exclude US sales of TEOM-6M, she still outsells LAMB

pretty sure I'd put Mimi for 2005

Man, I wanted to agree at first, but WBT was the only huge huge song right? I know SIO would have been #1 had WBT not blocked it, but gwen had Hollaback girl which owned like 5 months of the year, not to mention rich girl, cool, and I think another single?

It's definately a toss up between the two

not really

WBT was the Song of the Decade

SIO was #2 for 7 weeks

DFAU was her 17th #1

ILT did quite good

Gwen had a #1 and another Top 10

YE Hot 100

Mariah: #1,#15, #69

Gwen:#2, #31, #76

I'm not denying Mariah her 2005 achievements, 2005 Mariah is what turned me into a lamb, but I'm just saying from personal experience, in my area, while yes WBT and SIO were massive, HG was equally as massive (perhaps not on charting, but in general)
