She may slay harder than TFM and she can flop way more than ARTPOP nobody knows. Didn't I allude to this in my post? That's what I am getting at ( as per your change) They are different and have had completely different careers. BUT they have a lot of similarities as well. I have hope for ARTPOP reaching that Status too. Given time ofc. For me it already is and was a continuation of The Fame and where she is now. I have hope for ARTPOP reaching that Status too. Given time ofc. I hope people do appreciate ARTPOP more, but Erotica started to get appreciation late because now that the world is more open to those BDSM related imagery that she was using. Critics were now able to look at the real music of Erotica. Back in 1992 everyone was just focused on her stunts and dismissed the album because of her open sexual magnetism. ARTPOP did kind of get treated like this because of how out-there and weird it was, but i don't know if people will ever be able to get past its weirdness to appreciate it. Hopefully they can though cause its my favorite album ever! "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."
Naufri 7,424
No, please don't. Madonna is Madonna, and Gaga's career is not comparable nor have to take the same pattern. No madonnity on this site please. BTW LG5 would be more Bed time stories, I hope not, I don't have nothing against that album but I'm so sick at all the star system being so "indie" that an "indie" album by Gaga is the last thing I want. I want unprejudiced, shameless, powerful POP.

Bedtime Stories is R&B influenced and Ray of Light is soul searching techno/trance music. But both with powerful "POP" influences. Honestly, we'd be lucky that LG5 is as remembered and critically acclaimed as Ray of Light so don't bash it. "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..." TSUNAMI 21,018
Kids 20 years from now will comprare their pop star eras with LG5 era. It may be much more than Ray of Light ever was.
monketsharona 81,693
I think each career is different, Gaga is in a state Madonna never has been in her career, like Gaga wasn't in the same situation Madonna was when she launched RoL... So no... But I definitely think LG5 will be a big turn in her career (like RoL was for Madonna). If she's successful with it I think people will change her mind on her and definitely would stop seeing in her only like the girl who failed with ARTPOP. The change is already starting since CTC, The Oscar 2015, AHS, Woman of the Year and even more with Superbowl and Oscars 2016. The GP and the press are stanning for her again, the field definitely is clear for LG5 to be a big success ! Now she just need to release something soon (not Gaga soon). BTS and ROL was Madonna taking some of the best things of the alternative scene of the 90's and using it for mainstream music. She planned Bjork to produce BST, giving the success of Debut the year after.

I kind of put her in a category with Davis Bowie: clearly their music and visuals have had a profound effect on the rest of the industry and, yes, my fave. But the actual music? Not for me at all. I want an Elton meets Stevie kind of record for LG5. I think it's not abous music type anyway, it's about how succesfull Ray of Light was. Sugar, spice, and everything nice.
