The artist, who has also gone by the name Antony Hegarty, penned an open letter in Pitchfork Thursday, in which she expressed her disappointment in the Academy after it was announced that two Oscar-nominated songs, including Anohni's "Manta Ray", were not invited to be performed due to time constraints. I thought it was going to be for one of the many relevant problems in the film industry. That is very frustrating though. She's right, that's one of the things that should be reformulated in the Oscars...they give so much time for jokes that people are only going to complain about in following day, why not taking 10 minutes and letting the other 2 songs be performed? That's just one person not attending. A boycott is when multiple people get together to not attend something. If I were her, I'd be frustrated, too. I am not even kidding, this as disrespectful as disrespect can get. I get the point of time constraint, but c'mon cut out other things like the stupid jokes, and leave in the hardworking artists. They don't need to cut anything, they could just make the ceremony longer. It's not like people are gonna die of boredom because of extra 30 minutes. And they can't even come with the excuse it would be too expensive to televise cause they are not poor. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
