100% yes! I've always wanted her to do more work creating her own sound from scratch. I think she'd make some killer stuff. I sometimes think it'd be useful for her to just take some time completely to herself to build her own in-home studio, hibernate in there for a few months, and really get into crafting her own sounds. I think her talented brain would create something really special. But I dunno if she'd enjoy that kind of hibernation creation. I think her process is more fast paced, always moving, flying around the world to multiple different producers, very collaborative, bouncing ideas around a room and feeding off other creative peoples excitement.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Not now...I love like how it sounds, but Gaga needs to leave the 80's behind and embrace a more current/organic sound, imo...now, more than ever, she needs to prove herself as a songwriter and show that she can evolve musically...

In the future, maybe for a side project (imagine like an Apple music exclusive EP of 80's inspired songs), then ok...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

A lot of people seem to be thinking that the Moog was 80's, it was actually 60's and 70's primarily. By the 80's the Roland synthesizer was around along with drum machines. The Moog is a lot more involved to use and doesn't necessarily use premade synths, it is used to completely build synths. It's much more versatile than most people realize.

In the same way the violin can be used in pop and not sound like it's classical music the Moog can be used. The Moog can be played with many different tones and genres, there's just not many modern examples to showcase it. EDM seems to be the most common place to find a Moog now, but it has been used for classical music, orchestral tracks, disco, rock, you name it.

Actually, Gaga sampled the Moog version of Funeral of Queen Mary from A Clockwork Orange [1971] and remixed it into an interlude for The Fame Ball. It sounds completely different and not dated at all in relation to its source.

Did anybody actually watch this video that OP posted though? Listen from this point on (4:10). He built that sound from scratch in just a few minutes time. Does that sound like music from the 60's, 70's or 80's? Does it sound dated? It sounds like a killer dance track, and very modern! :D

Reminds me of what Daft Punk did for the Tron soundtrack a few years ago, but less cinematic and more clubby. Kinda like modern industrial music too. Imagine that being further edited and used as just one layer in a song, with her singing something over it.

Edit: also, does it not sound familiar to the kind of electronic instrumentation going on in Venus?

And also kind of G.U.Y...

Most of her sounds are synths and this is just another kind. Just because it's been around a long time doesn't mean it can't be utilised in a modern way :P

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
