Would TFM still be an amazing record if it didn't do well?

Of course not, all anyone in this fanbase cares about is numbers. The second it's labeled a flop everyone collectively shits on it. It's one of the things I hate the most about other fans. If you can't enjoy the music unless it's successful than why are you here?

It's a fantastic record, I love it, so I would say "YES!" HOWEVER, it wouldn't get near the hype and love it gets around here if it flopped. I can think of enough people here who are only into the charts and bling that I believe they would constantly try to drag it otherwise.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Yes.

I made this thread because a lot of fans here seem to talk about TFM and imply they want that kind of music back because of the success.

I want that kind of music back because the sound is monstrous cool and is controlled at the same time they are just great songs to listen to no matter what mood u r in whereas ARTPOP sometimes you want to listen to it more if u r In a crazy mood for example whereas the fame monster is great to listen to all the time

Don't you think it's possible for Gaga to create music that is monstrous cool and controlled, while not sounding like a re-release?

Maybe also because TFM is her highest quality record, which people correlate with success?

I don't think ARTPOP is that bad. I just think that TFM is her best body of work.

As far as quality goes, TFM is the highest, even in terms of cohesion. Although, I believe that The Fame is a very cohesive album as well.

That doesn't mean I'm shading any of her other albums. I can't speak for everyone else, though.

Born this way is my favourite album but TFM is undeniably her best album.

The production was incredibly forward thinking, the lyrics and hooks are tight, there is no filler and every track brings something new to the table from the last.

I think TFM's success is a result of its quality and fresh interesting concept. For me the only song that has aged horrendously is Telephone. Sorry but I can't stand it anymore but the rest is divine. But I get what you mean. I've noticed it among many members here - missing more the feeling of Gaga's reign and innovation at the time rather than the music itself. But I suppose it's natural. Nobody would want her to sound the same. Instead GGD is hoping she will find that new sound in pop that could potentially bring similar success.

Also, to some of you, please cut the attitude towards ARTPOP stans, okay? I know some members are giving a hard time with the rants but this period is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Besides, you can't just assume that just becase someone became a stan during AP era then they are being hateful towards Gaga's older discography. :duck:
